It is really good going to be seeing them the day after Thanksgiving. Is it me or does track 4 really sound like Alice In Chains?
I just heard Throwdown's new album Deathless, what the fuck happened to them? I was totally into them back in 04/05...they were incredibly hardcore and excellent and I stopped listening to them for a bit....then I check this album out, and its waaaay too metal, what the fuck happened to their sound? Sounds like a Godsmack wannabe cd. fuckin disappointed!
Upcoming Shows:
Pitchfork Festival: 7/19 @ Union Park
Mountain Oasis Festival: 10/25-27
Coachella: 4/11-13 @ Empire Polo Fields
Any seeing Mastodon live this year? I can't wait and love their albums. So heavy!
They're straightedge though! They know what's up!
i used to like Throwdown. They were ahead of the curve as far as new school tough guy hardcore was concerned, a lot better than Hatebreed and the ilk
Paul, if you're looking for metal-tinged hardcore like Throwdown, check out On Broken Wings and Remembering Never. RN's album "women and children die first" is especially good
some new actual hardcore records i've been digging lately are "miscarriage" by Virgins (ex-New Mexican Disaster Squad) and "hell is empty" from Ruiner.
As for metal, got the new Between The Buried and Me but haven't listened to it yet
@Stinkbutt regarding Baroness - yes, that track sounds very Alice In Chains thanks to the vocal harmonies...very "jar of lifes" era AIC
@MuseRadio - I was practically rail for Mastodon's performance of "crack the skye" at Coachella and it was brilliant! I'll be at the 11/20 palladium show as well. I'm a bit peeved their pretty much still just doing CTS, but I only paid $10 for the ticket after fees and i'm stoked on Converge, High On Fire, and Dethklok too. I've been able to see Mastodon tour for every album since remission so i have seen almost every song they've done life save for Lifesblood/Call of the mastodon stuff
6/21/13-6/23/13 - Solid Sound Music Festival - MASS MOCA

its 10x better than Christ Illusion thats for sure!
Upcoming Shows:
Pitchfork Festival: 7/19 @ Union Park
Mountain Oasis Festival: 10/25-27
Coachella: 4/11-13 @ Empire Polo Fields
I don't know how I had never heard these guys before but holy shit
Ahkmed
Nothings wrong with it, other than seeing inocent girls on the sidelines getting their face bashed in by some idiot trying hurt people in the crowd. I have watch countless fights break out at those shows. I have been to at least 6 Lamb Of God shows, and never once have I seen a fight during their set. Go figure...
This should be pretty amazing. Can't wait.
Last show i was at was Dislocated, 4Radicals and some hardcore band called the Fart Farmers........they came on wearing dresses, except for the bassist who was bollock naked. They were gay.
Disappointing. The Slayer and Megadeth US tour has been put to rest. The tour was officially cancelled today because singer Tom Arraya needs urgent back surgery.
Australia was lucky. The tour did make it down under but the US dates to promote the new Slayer album ‘World Painted Blood’ happened later.
The US, Canadian and European dates for the tour have now all been shelved.
Here is the official announcement:
"Tom gave various medical treatments more than a fair shot," said Slayer's manager Rick Sales, "but they just haven't handled the problem, so he's biting the bullet and is scheduled for back surgery at the end of this month."
This difficult decision made by the band's bassist/vocalist Tom Araya means the cancellation of Slayer's immediate tour plans that include the American and Canadian Carnage Tour dates that were set to kick off on January 18, as well as the band's UK/European headline tour scheduled for March and April. Booking agents for both Slayer and Megadeth are already hard at work rescheduling the tour dates; tickets already purchased for these shows will be honored at the rescheduled dates.
Interesting that Megadeth is not choosing to carry on with the tour and look to replace Slayer with another big metal act. Like Lamb of God or something? I guess that's the problem , how in the world can you find a suitable replacement for Slayer...
