Thread: How does camping work?

    Default How does camping work?

me and about 5 other friends are planning to camp. Its our first time camping and we really don't know any of the regulations. Are we assigned a spot individually or as a group? We are planning to buy those tents that hold 8 people. Pretty large in size. Are they allowed? Will we have enough space for a tent that size with a canopy around us?

The way it works is you live outside for a few days.

Camping involves a tent, a fire, and a sleeping bag.

    Maybe even some marshmallows.

With that many people you should have no problem getting a big enough space for your tent and a canopy. There are camp counselors to help you. NO fires!

Last year I camped with a large group from Vancouver/Calgary. They brought a massive tent for everyone to stay in. I brought my own tent, and was beside them. The large tent worked fine, but by the end of the weekend they all wished they had brought their own (snoring, being woken up in the middle of the night by late comers, general privacy). They also had never set the tent-mansion up before, so it took two hours of struggling at midnight on Thursday to get it up. I recommend you practice pitching it beforehand.

Camping largely does not work. At its worst, it is a maelstrom of hedonistic behaviors the likes of Sodom of Gommorah; at its best, its really hot and people kill each other for food.

    Wow! I couldn't disagree more.

Camping "largely" works great...but you can't be a sissy! The camp area has showers, food, supplies, and lots of great people. Yes, there is some lude behavior at the camp site, but remember, you're at a concert!

Just imagine someone saying....well, I went to Woodstock but we stayed in a nice hotel 5 miles away! Wimpy huh. There are a lot of wimpy, weak, people at Coachella that don't like to have a good time and I guarantee you that they miss out on much of the experience that Coachella has to offer because they refuse to bear a little heat and stay in the camping area.

One tip though, ear plugs are manditory. You will eventually want to get some rest!

This will be my 4th year in a row camping with my wife...wouldn't miss it for the world.
