Sugarcubes did a KUKQ event, one of the last ones, at Desert Sky Pavillion, when they were touring for their last album. That was a while before KFMA went on the air.

Doesn't mean they didn't come back later for a KFMA event, but I'm just guessing that's the one you meant.

Thanks, man. Geez, that fucking thing's been closed for, what? Two years now? Your tax dollars at work, eh? I won't mind driving to Plush but it would be stupid to drive to the Buffet when it's such a relatively close walk.

And $28 ain't bad for that show, all things considered. As I noted before, when the Faint played the Marquee in November, it was $20.

My memory's not so good these days. It was probably the KUKQ one then.

IIRC, it was the one where they had planned another big 2 day event, and Nirvana was supposed to headline. But U2 scheduled a show at Sun Devil Stadium on Friday, so they wound up cancelling Friday and making it a one-day thing. A bunch of bands backed out (or couldn't move to Saturday) and it wound up being pretty lame except for The Sugarcubes.

That was the first time I missed a KUKQ fest, but I should have gone anyway, since I never got to see The Sugarcubes. I want to say it had Rollins Band and Dramarama for, like, the 4th time in a row.
