This guy sucks but give ME an 8 ball, right??
blues, when played on broken, slightly out-of-tune acoustic guitars by impoverished black men in the Mississippi delta: beautiful.
blues, when played by slightly more priviledged black men from urban centres on electric guitars: pretty good.
blues, when played by a black woman accompanied by a blues/jazz pianist ("classic blues" i believe?): beautiful.
blues, when played by middle to upper-middle white men from suburbia, using high-end equiptment and production: TERRIBLE.
but i never, never, neverrrr thought i'd hear the blues chopped up by some viking named Muggybub or Mooggerdorg or whatever his name is. he completely missed the point, and i have no clue what this guy's trying to do.
can't be as bad as the killers. moogerbooger for saturday headliner!!! make it happen GV!!!
Fucking mediocre.
I love Mugison. I seen him about 3 years ago at a tiny bar and no one was there I don't think GV would spend the money to get him over here he wouldn't be much of a draw
it's not about the territories, it's about the mindset that goes along with it. it's a style that came to exist because it perfectly emulated a certain frame of mind that was held by a group of people with specific experiences. and you can hear it in a player's voice and technique. muggywuzzy just doesn't come close.
The harder you hit the drums the better music gets.
HORRIBLE.
different does not mean FUCKIN AMAZING by any means.

If it helps all you hipsters Pitchfork loves him
but there's a difference between emulating a style of music that is completely separate from you, and being influenced by a style your whole life. you can hear it in this guy's voice and playing that he completely misses the point.
