Just enjoy the show... (No Moshing!)

This is my first year doing Coachella, but I have been to many other shows and Festivals and I know that the one thing that can ruin it is Moshing. getting a handful of people who create a giant circle in the middle of the crowd just so they can laugh like morons and bump into each other. Now its not like their are a ton of Mosh style bands here, I doubt Fleet Foxes and Beirut will create violence, but i have seen some pretty low-key bands spawn mosh pits...

So please, in 2009, lets put an end to the Mosh pit. Stop ruining the concert for the people who go there to watch the band.

taking nothing and making it in to something? wow, next time i'll be sure to list specific band names in the title. Never seen a mosh pit at bands like Mastodon or Throbbing Gristle. some people might think the way you enjoy a show is unappealing and can ruin it, does that mean you should stop being a bump on the log? No it would mean, I need to go to another area or endure it.

Now it's great to move around during a concert, everyone gets into the music. People just need to be respectful when moving. Every concert I go to people just plain shove you with no regard of your safety at all. I've had many concerts ruined because of someone getting in my way or pushing at me

I went to a Melt Banana concert in LA one night where everyone was moshing and jumping around, but if people fell they would get picked up and people would try not to put others in harm. It was a very respectful crowd yet at the same time everyone was moving around a lot. I went to a show they did in Pomona the next night and the crowd was the exact opposite, just rude as fuck. A crowd really can affect a concert experience. Like I said, it's not a matter of moving as much as it is just doing it in a respectable manner

Your level of annoyance at moshing will be nothing compared to my rage if nobody's moving during Mastodon's set. If I don't walk away from there with a broken bone something went terribly wrong.

And thats my point. I'm not saying that people should just stand there like statues and watch a band. two of the greatest shows I've seen live were Muse and the Flaming lips and the crowds were moving all over the place, jumping around, dancing and getting into the music, and it was awesome. that is the best for bands that bring that kind of energy. I'm talking about the idiots who just want to "play fight" in a giant circle. I'm all about doing whatever it is you want to do but when you start to ruin the concert for others thats when it becomes a problem. I've seen people get accidentally punched in the face, hit to the ground, and all kinds of fights break out simply because they wanted to pretend to push each other around. They aren't even watching the band most of the time. This is my point.
