So, I compared the most recent Monklish lineup (Link Here) and found that it had a 80.30% success rate. Monklish indicated 66 bands that would be a "Personal Guarantee" with only 53 appearing on that list.

I will let you decide if that is "successful" or not...

All those artists were comfirmed through their myspace or labels or whatever...there was no "intel" for that...just time on the computer...no special inside source...All the headliners were painfully obvious...except The Cure...which no one talked about...I think they were what held everything up...there was nobody for Sunday...Bowie and god knows who else fell through...and it took GV a couple weeks to accept that was the best it was gonna be this year...

Word. CoS played it safe too, not confirming that many acts. Monklish nailed a lot of his personal guarantees. I'm just kinda dissapointed not to see an Avalanches reunion there.

First... The Avalanches aren't a reunion. They are in the middle of recording their new album. They have been for the last few years. They never broke up.
Second... It sucks they aren't on the line up. Perhaps they are part of the late Sahara additions Dani was talking about?

Uhhh... 2004. Then 2005. Then DEFINATELY 2006. Then maybe 2007. Then probably 2008. Then a tentative release date of March 2009. But who knows. Its been a brutal wait as someone whos been a fan since Since I Left You came out. The Avalanches were one of the very first electronic groups I got into.
