The sound guy on the main stage must have a grudge against two person bands. The Black Keys were kinda quiet and so was Death from Above 1979.

Even so, The Black Keys still sounded great to me... and here's my proof

wow, that sucks. it was fine where i was too. sounds like the stacks on the stage were off or something, cuz if you were near any of the speakers further back the sound was just fine.
Let's go on a livin' spree!

Sounds to me like it really depended on where you were when watching them. I tend to move to the left side of the main stage for acts I want to see. I was near the first row of speakers on the left and heard everything loud and clear.

I wondered if it was an up front speaker problem and even said we should try moving back behind the next set of speakers but we bailed instead. Oh well. I saw them in February in a smaller venue so all is well with the world.

First of all, sorry to anybody that had sound issues. I was pretty much front and center, and quite frankly, irritated by all the people screaming "turn it up" between songs. From my vantage point, it sounded like they were two to three hundred yards to the side of the very front of the stage.

Same set as when I saw them late last year, but god damn have they improved. It's not like they weren't awesome the last time I saw them either. They have really perfected the new songs in the live setting. Each is like a roller coaster, with emphasized high and low points and it truly expands their overall dynamic. The way Dan quietly sung the beginning of "Everlasting Light," it felt like I was dreaming. Not to mention the bad ass disco ball.

"She's Long Gone" was my favorite from the set. I wish they would drop "Chop and Change," to me it's not up to par with the rest of their selections.

It's good to see this band finally get the recognition it deserves. It's kind of scary to think how big they can really get, the sky is the limit.

Also, I fucking love that they come out to "Liquid Swords," you just can't get any cooler than that.

New album streaming free on iTunes. It's psychedelic, it's pink floyd-esque, it's groovy, I dig it.

I guess that there is a really high chance that they are the headliners of 2015 since they didn't add Los Angeles to their US Tour because of the Goldenvoice's rule.

Would not surprise me. Would fall perfectly in line with Arcade Fire's 2 year Coachella Headliner Hiatus Duration. Then new huge album drop and wham! Back again for seconds :-)

Their tour is well outside the radius clause, though. They're heavily rumored for Made In America LA.

They're also conspicuously absent from any SF dates. Based on their gaps, I'm giving it a 99% probability they'll be at both Treasure Island and Not So Silent Night. For you SF'ers out there. ;-)

Oh, I know. The "lulz" part was that The Black Keys headlined the very next year. It didn't even take them "a few years."

I should have said "two-time headliner" because I think they headline one of the nights in 2015.

I would hope they come back with single-day tickets, then.
I have been to concerts. I will go to concerts in the future.

I believe I was the first to predict (soon after Coachella 2011) that the Black Keys would headline in 2012. Supre -- in his special autistic way -- mocked my prediction.

Agree with this. Love the black keys but a kick of bass in live shows would be ace!
