The black keys are on friday, most people know them. Most people know they are going to bring the rock, and fucking destroy everyone who watches them. I'm hoping for outdoor theater at night. if you want albums get Attack and Release, and Magic Potion. This thread is for all things black keys.

just saw them last night in the D. kept closing my eyes and hearing their sound fill the place past the brim, and then opening my eyes to the surprise that there were only 2 people creating that full a sound. awesome. i liked the wavey distortion/reverb stuff the guitar player does (i dont know the technical terms for that typa shit). very very talented. and he kind of reminds me of thom yorke, not at all in his voice, but in his head bobbing and stature. also liked how they ended their songs really abruptly. exciting stuff

my guess is the name time as the national last year on the outdoor stage. This is my 1 act who conflicts don't matter on friday. Well Macca also, but i have a feeling it's going to be silent at that time.

Let me say this about the Black Keys. I'd listened to them a couple of times (friend is into them) but it never really impressed me recorded. Not that they sounded bad or anything, just didn't really do much for me.

At Bumbershoot last year, waiting for Stone Temple Pilots (who turned out to be blegh), I thought I was "going to have to" wait through the Black Keys set. I ended up being blown away. They were incredible live. So even if you're listening along and aren't sure how you feel, they are worth checking out -- give them a few minutes and they will reel you in.

TBKs would fit very well at the outdoor stage.... not too crowded, not too small, perfect.... i saw them again last year at ACL, they are playing songs from 'the big come up', brilliant...

the black keys need to get a bass player for live shows... =/ love em and all but they have bass on the album "attack and release" and other instruments for certain songs. it just doesnt sound the same with only the duo =/
