The Strokes 2010?

This says that the strokes are headlining isle of wight and that they will probably be doing some festivals in North America and Europe next year. Plus they are putting out a new album next year! Any chance that they'll be at coachella?

I like the Strokes a lot, but the one time I saw them live I thought they were sort of weak. But I guess I'd see them if they weren't playing at the same time as someone good.

Well when looking at a headliner like Jack Johnson and comparing him to the Strokes, you're right, they could headline, because they are a well known band. My argument now is that their proper slot should be a subheadliner.

Seriously. I'm thinking to myself that these people who say the Gorillaz are not headliners are living in Population:37 rural West Virginia or something.

the Good the Bad and the Queen were listed as #5 on the 2007 and had only JUST released their first and only album. I know I know the 'are they headliners' argument is old, but if Gorillaz show up, we can let it die, they'll either headline or not. I'm still of the not going to happen camp though.

The Strokes are in the odd category of "too big to be a subheadliner but too small to headline", I think. I guess Daft Punk subheadlined in 2006, but that is a little different as they were in the Dance Tent.

It would be interesting. I could see them headlining, especially with a new album, but I think they are borderline too small to be a huge draw.

Muse/Strokes/Gorillaz in 2010 would probably be the closest to having 3 modern, relevant, popular headliners, though. Maybe Muse/White Stripes/Gorillaz morseso...

Thank God for this ^^^...For a second there I thought I was losing it. I'm not going to rag on the Strokes. They're a good band, but I would be amazed and embarrassed if they headlined.
