I am 54 and I have 459 ticket stubs from music I have paid to see. I did not start collecting them until I was 26 and I saw about 140 or more before then (late bloomer:-) That does not at all count for the countless blues festivals or outdoor festivals that I have gone to! I literally work to pay to go listen to other people perform their music:-) Thank heavens for a husband whose job pays the bills!

My first concert was Black Oak Arkansas at the Memorial Colosseum in Portland, OR in 1974 when I was 18 years old! I still remember it like it was yesterday because it affected me so strongly.....! Music is my religion. I have taken my kids to listen to live music at every opportunity I could from the time they were still in my tummy:-) They are now 19 and 20 and this year I brought them and myself to Coachella for the first time! We will try to make every Coachella from now on even if it is 1000 mile drive:-) My favorite concert ever was Robert Cray/Bonnie Raitt/ Stevie Ray Vaughn in Eugene at the out door amphitheater just a short time before his death. (I love Stevie Ray Vaughn and always have) Every concert we get to see is a blessing and we are very lucky to live in the NW so we can go to the Gorge Amphitheater which is a flipping spectacular venue! Just got back from 2 days of Dave Matthews there and it was a total blast! Long live ROCK AND ROLL!

I saw Nine Inch Nails, Prick and David Bowie the same year but in Portland, OR. I went to see Bowie but became a fan of Nine Inch Nails even though I wouldn't say they are exactly my "style" (I love James Taylor for petes sake) but what great musicians they are! I have all their albums on my MP3 player:-)

I have no idea how many i've gone to, but I know it's over 100. Pretty sure last year alone was close to 40.

Once you hit a certain age, if you have at all been involved in a music scene, how on earth could you know how many shows you've been? It's like trying to remember hom many times you have had sex... you definitely did keep track at first but at some point (especially once you enter into a long term relationship), you stop counting, stop caring, lose the need to keep track and keep score. I guess I am in a long term relationship with music.

Also, i have probably been to more shows where there is just a hand stamp and not an actual ticket stub.

I have forgotten dozens of shows.

    My most shows by band?
    Old 97s ~35
    Reverend Horton Heat ~30
    Hagfish ~20
    Slobberbone ~10
    Modest Mouse ~8
    Built to Spill ~7
    Wilco ~7

    That's 100 right there

Dozens of bands fall into the 4-7 range.

I keep the stubs of course and also, I have an Excel spreadsheet on my desktop that I use to track all the concerts I go to and update that spreadsheet every time I hit a new show. Sure, it's nerdy but I like the idea of keeping track of what's been a huge hobby of mine over the last few years
    .

I've got 171 shows dating back to 2003. So an average of about 25/year.

8 not counting festivals. 5 of those this year.

I really just recently started getting into live music. I have to travel to see any shows that don't suck though, since I live in a music hellhole, so that complicates things.

I am getting close to 200 since I first started going to live music in 2006, which I consider pretty good because Perth doesn't get that many decent internationals.

    Whiskey Sour

    2 oz blended whiskey
    Juice of 1/2 lemon
    1/2 tsp powdered sugar
    1 cherry
    1/2 slice lemon

Shake blended whiskey, juice of lemon, and powdered sugar with ice and strain into a whiskey sour glass. Decorate with the half-slice of lemon, top with the cherry, and serve.
