Daaaaaamn that's some Roger Waters shit in that video. And plus how bad can Paul McCartney fans be compared to Tool/RATM/RHCP/JJ? I'm about this.

Coachella 07 (the introduction), 08 (the bands), 09 (the documentary), 10 (the people i came with), 11 (the relationship test... we passed), 12 (whatever the weather, Dirty Epic forever), 13 (taking the good with the bad)
- PEARL JAM WHY YOU HATE COACHELLA? -
I couldn't disagree more absolutely...and I'm saying this while at the same time holding the opinion that Paul McCartney as a solo artist is one of the lamest acts in Rock n' Roll History...
But with 110 - 120 acts over three days and five stages going simultaneously...I love the fact that Coachella is moving towards making 10-15 of those acts "Historical" for lack of a better word.
Just imagine if this had been the trend 5 years ago...getting in say Arthur Lee of Love before he died, or trying for the Velvet Underground before Sterling Morrison succumbed to cancer...these artists, along with guys like McCartney, Roger Waters, Neil Young and 80s acts like Prince, Morrissey, the Replacements, and the Pretenders were all part of the same cutting edge independent movement in their day that Coachella celebrates today with all the younger artists they promote.
I for one am profoundly happy that a little more room is being made at the table for these cutting edge legends...however passe you may feel they are.
Besides, if you don't like them, there's always that endless stream of soon to be forgotten Dance/techno acts you can blow your day with at the overcrowded Sahara tent.
FYI, i only visit the sahara about 2-3x throughout the entire festival usually. McCartney does not fit, period. His solo act is incredibly lame. I dont know what else to say - christ man, it's fucking sir paul. are you serious? i take back the ban on geriatric fellows, because i'd love to see the Velvet Underground, or Led Zepp, or the Smiths - i thoroughly enjoyed Roger waters, and prince is timeless, but i will never ever ever ever ever accept the premise that any "legend" should play coachella. or that paul mccartney can be considered cutting edge
I actually think that maybe Coachella should continue with this. Close the festival every year with an older, epic artist(s).
I have to brush up myself. I've only gotten into the Beatles almost a year ago (I know, I'm lame), and I am not sure I'm familiar with his music outside The Beatles.
upcoming
Bjork doing Biophilia, 6/2 Hollywood Palladium, Los Angeles, CA
Outside Lands, 8/9-11 Golden Gate Park, San Francisco, CA
--almost, almost, almost the real thing
I'm down with old people. I will pass them the blunt.
I know we know nothing for sure, but are we confident that Bowie is out?
I'd see some of McCartney's set, but I'll hope there is a better conflict. I adore the Beatles, but Paul I can give or take.
which sing-along would be louder:
Roger Waters-Another Brick In The Wall
or
Paul McCartney-Hey Jude
God I hope he plays "Live and Let Die".
I would fucking DIE if he played "She Came in through the Bathroom Window"

I like McCartney, but I'd rather see Joe Cocker do "She Came In Through the Bathroom Window"
*based upon tedious fact checking.
I worry most about all the old people. The medical staff will be swamped.
Well I actually think a sell-out would be a good thing. They (sound like they) need the money.
yeah. I always buy my tickets immediately, so I'm not worried about a sell out. Sell out = future Coachellas
I will be so happy to finally scratch Paul off the list...unless uh, he conflicts with uh, you know...
it'd be funny if prodigy played the same day and coachella was just mccartney fans and prodigy fans and nobody else
