OK Computer is their only good album. The Bends had a few good songs, but wasn't really anything special compared to most other Britpop at the time. The rest are boring as hell.

Their entire career post-OK Computer has basically consisted of them ripping off much more talented artists and passing shit off as their own.

    I'm gonna go:

    1) In Rainbows
    2) OK Computer
    3) Amnesiac
    4) Kid A
    5) The Bends
    6) Hail to the Thief
    7) Pablo Honey

With 6 being waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay far above 7. Pablo Honey is pretty much shite, and I really like several tracks from HTTT, esp 2+2=5. I would probably switch HTTT with Kid A if not for Idioteque and EiiRP.

Kid A is one of the albums I would keep if I could only take 3 with me. Then OK Computer, The Bends, In Rainbows, Amnesiac, HTTT, Pablo Honey.

Also by your dumbass logic then anyone who has ever played an instrument suck because they didn't do it first. Pull your head out of your ass and realize that without Kid A most wouldn't have heard of Aphex. Point Liars, Beta Band, or any other artist who Thom hypes up and then thousands of hipsters (including me) go and check them out.

I'm on that bandwagon too. But I also think that after Pablo Honey, their album rank is interchangeable depending on the listener. They're all impeccable.

when rolling stone did a year end recap back when hail to the thief came out, they punctuated their praise for hail with an important statement: radiohead are not avant garde. but they are about as close to avant garde as popular music gets. (paraphrase)

this assertion initially bothered me, until i realized that it was not a criticism, and does not take away from their absolutely outstanding work in the least. people arguing that radiohead are not "doing anything new" may be right.. so what? they still make amazing music.

and it's not like they sound particularly similar to any other band anyway. they have carved out a niche that is unmistakably radiohead.

the possibility of an avant garde was convincingly challenged after the peak of modernism, over half a century ago. in other words, creating something truly new (in the arts, music, etc) is next to impossible. it's all been done, as the saying goes. the prevailing trend today is recombination of previous styles, a defining trait of post-modernism. (see girltalk)

My post was word for word gonna be "Kid A because it completely changed the game." ... hah. Bands have made a living imitating OKC to this very day, but Kid A was the one that just changed everything about what a record could be at the time.

I cant really choose because it just really depends on my mood. But for the sake of the poll i chose Ok Computer. I also don't see why so many people hate Pable Honey. Its definitely not close to their best but it still isn't a bad record.
