I dont know about you guys but the Red Hot Chili Peppers put on one of the best shows ive ever seen
and what bands would you suggest, and if you say something that is a completely opposite genre than the chili peppers than you really dont have an argument whatsoever. I mean if you dont like that genre of music, or dont like the band thats fine, but it doesnt mean they put on a bad show. it just means you dont like that particular style of music or that band

I've got a guy on the inside who tells me he's 75% sure that the Peppers are going to headline Saturday night.
That's a load of crap. I can compare shows in any genre I like.
I liked the chili peppers...i've seen them 4 or 5 times...they used to put on a good show. Recently they haven't.
Who puts on a better show...this could take a while
Broken Social Scene
The Arcade Fire
Pearl Jam
Mogwai
Radiohead
Bjork
The Flaming Lips
TV On the Radio
The New Pornographers
The Go! Team
The Hold Steady
The Mars Volta
Trail of Dead
Explosions in the Sky
A Silver Mt. Zion
Bloc Party
AIR
Dismemberment Plan
Deerhoof
Muse
Nine Inch Nails
The Octopus Project
Patti Smith
The Raconteurs
Gnarls Barkley
Sleater-Kinney
Super Furry Animals
The Streets
The all put on a better show than the chili peppers IN MY OPINION
Well I cant argue with someones opinion because who am I to tell someone what they like.
But all im saying is that, bands from different genres put on different types of shows, so the fans have to be willing to hear that type of music to enjoy the show. For example, I saw The Mars Volta with some friends and I thought they put on a great show when I saw them, but im into the experimental type music so I was able to enjoy it, While alot of my friends who saw them who are not inot that type of music, hated them and thought it was one of the worst shows they've seen because they couldnt take that type of music.
Simply put if you dont like the sounds that are coming out of a band it is impossible to enjoy that band.
And as far as the Red Hot Chili Peppers go, I saw them a few months ago and have no complaints about the quality of the show, In My Opinion they put on a great performance and I would definitely see them again
i happened to see the mars volta a few months ago with the chili peppers and thought they put on a MUCH better show than rhcp. they weren't as entertaining to me, but musically, i've found few that could compete. rhcp put on a really fun show though; everyone knows all their songs, so everyone can get into it. i, personally, am really looking forward to seeing them at the end of a long day.

Pics from their show in San Diego, Aug. 22, 2006. This was my third time seeing them, the first time being at Coachella in '03 right after By The Way came out. That show was my favorite one. Besides their own stuff, they do an awesome Ramones cover, and John Frusciante does a really good "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow". The best, however, are the jam sessions between Flea and John. Anyways...

I bet it's the greatest show on earth if you turn off Keeeiiejcsdoeiosoaindis's mic.
ick gross
god...
that was like one of those super old school ebaumsworld shocker clips where they get you staring at a photo or video clip and then suddenly change it to something horrible and disgusting. like... what in the fuck was wrong with mister poutyface? if I ever meet that guy, I'm going to smack the living shit out of him.
but yeah. the chili peppers are good live. but them playing this year would be like... three out of five years or something? not happening.
all measures of their appeal or ability aside, just not happening.
and being sweaty and wearing no shirts!!!!
mmmmmmmmmmmmm anthony![]()
wow.... i cannot believe what i am reading, but yet I can. even considering how long RHCP has been around (1983, probably before most of you were born) many may not take to the liking of RHCP. even with the wide variety of genre's they have incorporated into their music , you may still not prefer them. And even though they have won over 40 music awards , you still shouldn't feel the need to like them. and the fact that they are one of the top ten us rock artists of ALL TIME shouldn't influence your decision by any means either.
but hopefully that fact that they F*CKIN ROCK should be a good enough reason!!!
maybe between 15-20 years ago i would have been REALLY excited ... about 10 years ago i would have sort of cared ... but after being pretty bored by what they have done in the last 10 years, and after feeling pretty blah during their headline slot at the Virgin Festival in Baltimore a few years ago, i would give this a miss ... if this is true, hopefully someone incredible is headlining the outdoor stage or sahara ...
Yay let's bump threads that are one year old and irrelevant!!!
I can confirm they are old sell outs![]()
RHCP are fucking awesome, and people just like to talk shit.
I can confirm RHCP are boring live. they probably played for free
of course.... and i luv it!! keep it comin'
ya know i cant actually say that my all time favorite show is a RHCP show. Its actually the Black Crows back in 94 in Colorado!!
But as an artist you just cant knock em down like that. Their show may not be the best and I am a little afraid of them possibly hitting a plateau of some where they just might not need to tour as much as they used to anymore. I actually had to stop following them after awhile because they just wouldn't stop touring.
But musically, they have broken boundaries beyond belief and topped record sales. And dammit if someone is gonna say something bad about my anthony and the boys then i gotta say something!!!
ok... now continue
DUDE, I was saying I love the RHCP, and people need to stop talking shit.
rhcp sucked in 07. One of the biggest disappointments I've ever had at Coachella.
yikes.......who dug this old thread up?
Mike Patton at his worst is still ten times better than RHCP
2:49 is a little harsh though
