Got my passes, condo booked, mates got their passes as well it's actually not hot in the Central Valley ...life is fucking great right now
I've never posted in this thread before- but
weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! I just got my summer semester covered, I got an A on my first paper this semester, and my friends and I all got weekend 1 tix for 2014. Yeah-errrrr! Finally I can take a shower now. I'll even be more in a great mood then!
I should've bought a car camping pass in advance, oh well.
That's what figured after I purchased, I can get one later.
Whatevs. Bask in your good vibes.
I just got word that a proposal I did for a tv network decided to go with all my ideas, I found a bunch of stashed (emergency) gift cards that I can use for gas and stuff I can't buy with my own non-existent money, I drunk cooked last night but I actually cleaned up after myself, AND made leftovers for tonight! (a first!) I didn't peel my tan off, and I am eating a really awesome quesadilla I made, goes great with this pomegranate limeade that started out gross but got delicious with some vodka and agave nectar.
Today started out with a funky smell of defeat, but it turned out awesome.
Ok hump-day. You're alright with me this round.
Seeing you have a good day makes me want to have a good day.
Grats on the TV stuff brah. Let us know what it's about if you can.
It was a project I did for my PR class. We got clients that needed free help. I did the creative side of PR, which is coming up with ideas to both improve infrastructure of the tv station with tanking ratings, and also visually lure in a "better" demographic. Even though the slogan I came up with "ABC 4 Utah, ABC 4 You" was a campaign I came up with that was super versatile (mostly because I am TERRIBLE at making decisions, so I usually make hybrid, or collaborative type things) so it was a few dummys I made for them that included video commercials, magazine ads, radio spots, and even a company training video for the new staff since they sorta fired everyone.
It was tons of work, and I was nervous for the longest time because PR is new to me. I'm an ex-journalist, older than everyone in my classes, and still confused/terrified that I had made yet another wrong turn concerning my education/ career. I basically doubted every move I made. But looks like I rock at it, cuz the GM for the station wrote me a letter and I got a job offer at the station. (not taking it, although I REALLY need money) I think I just needed that little taste of success, because it's been a really rough year. All work and no play for like two years, and worse, no money. I've been planting little seeds of hope in all the areas that I am interested, but also in areas that make me take that leap from journalism to marketable Public Relations. This is finally something that is legit to put in a portfolio. Huge relief. Now I can go on with confidence! I kinda feel like saying "fuck you, and you and you and you" to all the people who just stood in the way. But hahah, I'll just eat my humble quesadilla. I'm happy enough to wash it down with vodka today.
P.S. I've had my share of very terrible days, btw. This sorta all just happened- but I must say, (and this is going to sound totally hippie style) but I think my third eye has opened since this past Coachella. Things seem to be easier to work with and schmooze. My networking is finally paying off. It didn't come easy. All my good days before that were just little treats I let myself have, like dance USA party of one in my living room after a long day of work and homework, or splurging on music and magazines, things that make my life feel richer. So make yourself a yummy cocktail, put on a good song, and fake it till ya make it.

Claremont (the one in between Rancho and San Dimas) is a nice little college town.
Some good restaurants, tap houses, and bars have been sprouting up there and the downtown area is much better now than when I lived there.
