Hitting the road shortly for san diego, got a full nights sleep last night, the kids are excited even with the forcast of rain, things are great!

So on Friday night my boyfriend threw a amazing surprise party for me! It was awesome! Best weekend ever!!!!!!!!!!

One of the people I drive is a little older than the rest and isn't very thrilled about classic rock, or the music the others like. I asked her preference the other day and she told me. I start playing some Frank Sinatra for her and she absolutely lit up. She was singing along, swaying side to side, and at one point was just looking outside and said."Oh, Frank.". It absolutely made my day to see her so happy. Even thinking about it brings a smile to my face.

Tax return just came in! Now I can clear all my balances and get some good seats for Fiona Apple at the Greek! On top of that I get to see one of my favorite groups, Pleasurekraft twice this week! I'll be stopping by Sasha an DJ Andrew this weekend at Avalon as well! May even see the Goat in the mountains again on Sunday!

Plus I'm getting paid finally for the producing work I did earlier this year! Fuck yes good day for mugwog.

Today my son turns 18 years old. Both of my kids made it to adulthood, it was a rough road let me tell you, but we made it. He is working full time and was even offered a 401k at his company, something my company doesn't even offer. I am a very proud mommy.

Received an unexpected big check for a job I did that got a cyclical renewal, came at JUST the right time, totally pulled my head out of the water.

LOVE when that happens....sort of. I mean, it sucks to be in the position, but when it comes in....WOOHOO!!! I'm currently doing ok myself and finishing up the biggest job I've worked on alone, can't wait till that check rolls in. HA!

I'm usually much more financially responsible but I ended up with a bunch of large expenses right before my big vacation and it all kind of piled up on me at once. Granted, a large amount of debt for me is not nearly the same as a lot of people (the most I've ever accrued was something like $1900 in credit card debt) and i COULD have covered everything with my savings if it came down to it, but i like to pretend that doesn't exist if I can help it. I have a pretty lean budget that i manage to make go pretty far usually, but I'm not always the best at planning for the unexpected.

i had a PHENOMENAL night at work. my rent is $410/month. i made $400 with some loose change thrown in for good measure. everybody was pretty much throwing money at us tonight. if tomorrow turns out to be a regular good night, i might just hit up the casino to see how far my good luck goes

Today when I was about to leave for work my hair dryer just suddenly turned on by itself, I was halfway out the door when I heard it but went back to figure out what the sound was. When I looked it was smoking and left a burn mark on the counter but wouldn't turn off till I unplugged it, had it happened a few seconds later it might have started a fire which would have totally sucked. So yay for running a little late and not burning my apartment down.
