There is not a public announcement made every year. We are all waiting oh so patiently for the lineup to come up. There are a few other threads about when the lineup could potentially be announced. Just sit tight and wait like the rest of us...

For the last couple years, haven't the main website colors changed about a week or two before they made line-up announcements???

And they ALWAYS have announcements pertaining to changes and WHEN the line-up would come out...for the last few years at least...

My memory is a little vague, but I don't think GV makes announcements as to when they are announcing the lineup. The press conference thing last year if I recall correctly was from a spanish website called sopitas.com or something where a user found the information. Also, I think KROQ mentioned something about it as well. Nothing from GV though. (I'm not 100% certain about this).

I don't remember exactly when the colors change, but it wouldn't surprise me if they changed the colors the day of the lineup announcement (or even after) just to fuck with us.

I've only been checking the site for the last three-ish years, the colors seem to change when the poster comes out which is when the lineup goes up. In 2007 the lineup just showed up one night. In 2008 the site didn't change until after they announced the lineup on the radio and then they put up the poster.

We usually update the colors of the message board before anything else because we like to give the whiners a little time to get used to it since most people don't like "change" and it gives everyone time to complain about something new for a while.

We don't send out a press release announcing "hey this is the day we are going to change the colors" or saying "on such and such a day is when the line up will come out" .
