The worst one that comes to mind is from Season 3 when they had the remaining contestants working in a Subway. At the time i thought it was sad because it could have been seen as foreshadowing for some.

The spot with a Louis Black commentary tacked on:

Yes. He got more face time than any director of the commercials ever did. You should get a kick out of seeing your friend play such a large roll in the making of segment.

I never watch results shows. I just look at results on Wikipedia. I mean, an hour of filler is boring.

So it’s Quentin Tarintino night. Hooray. Songs from the movies. Hope someone does “Food” from Oliver.

Straight haired Kara. Need to look at this more. Paula is wearing 100 pounds of rocks. Little Steven in da house. Matt’s sorta suit is not working.

Allison – I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing: Going for the big one. This could be right, but song may be played out. Damn, girl hit the big note good. Sang the shit outta that one.

Crowd goes nuts! “The girls’ only hope.” Ouch to Lil. Simon, you can compliment without bringing Lil into it.

Anoop - Everything I Do: Could go way wrong. Can’t risk the boring zone at this point. Better end big. Oh oh, sweaty upper lip. Not bad, not better than good. Bad song choice.

Right, nice vocal, but not exciting. That weird letterman’s jacket screams “Bro!”.

Adam – Born to be Wild: Ha ha! Skip on out Adam. Adam’s rockin with the band. Big echo effect. Ripped that high. This kid rocks! That end ruled. Adam is making some of the most memorable Idol performances. There’s the most viewed youtube clip o the week. Who’s gonna beat this? Hater voters, that’s who.

Matt – Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman: What’s with the pocket watch chain? Oh no. “eeeked” a note. Sucks to have to follow the Adam performance. Kinda like 70’s Paul Williams following Pinball Wizard Elton John. It’s a’ight. Good piano playing. Needs to get bigger.

That straight hair is working on you Kara. Rawr.

Danny – Endless Love: Powder blue jacket. Danny the doctor. This could be a tearjerker. Harp shot. Needed those moist eyes at the end. Danny’s at a vocal disadvantage. Good smokey voice, but lacking power. His emotion and sincerity is good. Got a little lisp.

Kris – Falling Slowly: Great choice. Backing singer taking away from him.. That was ok. Sung alright, but not big enough. Maybe this wasn’t such a good choice after all. Glen Hansard is such a great singer. Chris made me think of Glen. Not good.

Lil – The Rose: Bad song choice. Singing good and loose. Softer Lil performance with good emotion. Should have picked a bigger song.

Fuck. Show’s running over again and didn’t fit the allocated recoding time. Right in the middle of Lil vs. Simon. Dagnabit! Got to go to the next recorded show. Ah, boring fight anyway.

    7) Kris
    6) Lil
    5) Anoop
    4) Matt
    3) Danny
    2) Allison
    1) Adam

I think it’s got to be Lil or Anoop gone. If that’s the case, no save gets used.
Quentin was a good mentor. Stressed the importance of emotion in a fun way.

actually i think adam is totally different than what you're comparing to, he's more in the vein of hair metal singers like Axl Rose or even somewhat classic rock in Robert Plant. But I do however find him annoying yes.

Fucking dvr boxes provided by Time Warner Cable. This is the second time i have encountered the problem of going to watch something to find out the box won't play sound. Had to exchange one already. i know it's not the tv because sound plays for the dvd player. i am not going to look into this thread until i find out if i'm watching it later through a cooled down box or youtubes (please don't let that be my only choice).

i only got 2 sentences into what gps wrote. Gotta see this proper on a big tv with decent sound. Fuckin' TW Box.

Stuck having to watch these on the Idol website. The dvr had to be switched out. Fuck you Time Warner.

Adam – If I Can’t Have You: Hey man, it’s disco night, why you turning this into a ballad? Cop out and playing it safe. He did a nice job, but this is the tamest (in a bad way) performance from him. When I think of disco, I think party. This ain’t no party. It’s not all about being David Cook all the time.

Allison – Hot Stuff: She better not be doing the same thing. She’s turning it into a “Rocker”. No. “Hot Stuff” is about sex and the beat and rhythms keep the seduction and fun in it. This version not only feels dirty because she’s 16, but the fun is gone and making it all serious. Who wants a serious night of debauchery? Bad arrangement choice. These serious arrangements don’t come off as genuine, but theatrical. Not good for the spirit of the theme at all. Sung well. Still in good voice, but not entertaining.

Anoop – Dim All The Lights: Oh noes, another fucking ballad version. Once again, Disco has roots in sex and partying. This rendition feels like it belongs on the Disney channel. He bumped up the tempo, but to a sway instead of a fucking dance. No ones getting any heat here. Come on! It’s fucking Disco week.

Danny – September: He’s got the tempo. Bad song to choose though. The biggest parts of it come from the band (Horns mostly) and the Phillip Bailey high that’s just got swiped from him by the back up singers. This is an almost version. He isn’t quite up to that totally engaging level. Sings nice. Has a good husk to his voice, but is best of the night by default at this point. Going back to sing with the back up singers is giving this a small club version of this song. Shoulda went with something different.

Fucking browser closed! Doesn’t the universe want me to watch Idol?

Kris – She Works Hard For the Money: At least he’s going up tempo. This is a genuine feeling performance and he’s not being upstaged by the band. He’s still has the tragedy of the lyrics in his feeling. This is an interesting working of the song. Like something you would hear from a really good street performer. I’d throw money in his guitar case. Good job.

Lil – I’m Every Woman: This is not helping her distinction problem. It’s a straightforward version and is making me think of how the original is much better. Once again Lil, sung well, but nothing I wouldn’t hear from a bunch of other talented singers. Different is better than technically adept.

Matt – Staying Alive: No. Ok, at least it’s different and in a good tempo. It’s like he’s running through it and isn’t fully concentrating on the vocal. Eh. Decent only because this week blows.

    7) Anoop
    6) Lil
    5) Matt
    4) Adam
    3) Alison
    2) Danny
    1) Kris

I suspect Anoop and Lil will be gone.

What a terrible way to watch the show. I got no judges. No Seacrest. No intro as to why they chose the song. Just watching the singing takes a lot of the fun of the show out.

Big Hairy Disco Balls indeed GPS.

Everyone’s looking dapper. Nice white suit. Matt’s has got to ditch the hats. Rat pack week. i wasn’t into the concept this morning, but i think this could be good now. Jamie Foxx? Ok. He sings and gets paid for it.

Kris – The Way You Look Tonight: The little girl in me is not big enough to be liking this. He’s giving goo goo eyes to the camera. Kris ain’t going home. It’s kinda on the dull side of the song.

Best performance to date? C’mon. Paula’s got the Christmas present dress going on. Thank you Simon for not giving into the blowjob fest.

Alison is looking very nice tonight. Like she’s going to a formal. Why Alison gets in the bottom 3 is a mystery to me. She’s a good kid.

Alison – Someone to Watch Over Me: Nice. Vocally that was sweet. She did a good job of conveying the emotion of the song. Girl has serious potential and current skill. Great job.

Simon is challenging her. Good. Hopefully it makes her step it up even more.

Matt (the hat) – My Funny Valentine: Sounding good. The phrasing at point is weird. He doesn’t have a good “look in the camera” look. He’s stressing on the end of some notes. Mr. Fox may have given bad advice to have him change the key.

Paula feels the emotional connection? She can fell the emotional connection with a mop. Simon thinks brilliant. What’s going on here?

Danny – Come Rain, Come Shine: Good walk out to the trombone. He’s got the gooey eyes too. Good end. i still think the voice is thin, but like how he puts his soul into it. One of the better Danny performances.

Jamie’s getting in his grill was really good mentoring.

Adam - Feeling Good: Fancy red stairs. That’s an entrance. The lighting is great. Kick ass on the “good”. Dude has got his super star on. That last note was awesome! That was one of my favorite Adam performances.

    5) Matt
    4) Kris
    3) Danny
    2) Alison
    1) Adam (by a mile)

i think Matt will go, but Alison is at high risk. i hope she’s safe.

There is part of me that stood up cheered for Adam's performance but then there is just still something about him that bothers me, maybe the cocky look on his face, like he knows he's the shit. I don't know. It was a great performance but I just can't get past the ick I get in the back of my mind.

He only seems cocky during his performance. He actually seems humble when he's getting evaluated. Then again, he might torture puppies offstage. Who knows?

    aw, Matt got the boot.
    Figured he would.
Kris or Allison will be next. Maybe allison will stay longer because she's the only girl.
But Kris has been really good lately. Maybe Danny is next.

Either way, I think Adam will make the final 2.
