That's a band I thought was cool and fun for a bit but then all of the sudden I couldn't listen anymore, they annoyed the piss out of me.

I would love to hear "color me once" though the song they did for the crow soundtrack.

Holy shit man! I had the exact same experience. It was just like one day they became unlistenable. I couldn't tolerate them AT ALL, and I used to love them. Weird.

I really wouldn't mind seeing them, just for the nostalgia.

Yep, it's funny I started out avoiding them because of his voice but then they sucked me in and loved the add it up greatest hits cd and then bam, sick of them completely and never listened to them again and always groaned when they came on.

The Femmes are awesome live, and I always thought that they'd be a perfect fit for Coachella. They were rumored to have broken up last year, but it looks like they are back on.

saw them at Graceland in Seattle a few years back...

Incredible show...and, Gordon is a really nice guy. He hung out with the crowd (maybe 150 people there) before and after the show.

I feel like the festival has pulled in more and more older acts. The Femmes would fit in along those lines.

BTW, when I saw them in 2000, I had a close call with drummer, Guy Hoffman. I was about 5-6 rows back (center stage), when someone lobbed and empty plastic bottle onto the stage and nailed him in the head. I happened to be watching him play (as opposed to Gordon, who was directly in front of me), and being taller than most, stood above the crowd. He immediately made eye contact with me, and for the last 30 minutes of the set, he kept staring at me. Being innocent, I kept staring back... very intense and strange.

I got giiiiirrrrrrl trouble....up the aaaassssss.

One of my favorite things in my VF collection is a single for "Machine". I don't even know what album that is off of- whatever it is, I don't have it. It has a remix by Dave "Rave" Ogilvie (Skinny Puppy producer), and then follows it up with a very rough live recording of Gordan playing Ramones' "Chinese Rock" on piano. Actually, it almost sounds like a harpsichord, and it also sounds like it was recorded at a party.

Everytime I have seen them they put on an awesome show. They are one of the few bands left that represent the early 80s American Indie/Alternative scene.

The cover of Children of the Revolution sounds like the theme music to Big Trouble Little China.

It is odd they've never played. Would they be an early main stage act?

I am not a fan but they fit in more than say like Crowded House. Seriously, did they fit in at coachella?
    "It's in the K" - Martha Stewart

Since the show list is very minimal...
    August 29 // Chemical Brothers w/ Chromeo & Yacht @ Hollywood Bowl
September 26 // Vampire Weekend w/ Beach House & the Very Best @ Hollywood Bowl
October 5 // ARCADE FIRE @ Henry Miller Library
October 13 // Corin Tucker Band @ The El Rey
(someone should give me Sufjan Stevens tickets, aint got none of those)

I don't see why not, they were just in a bad slot.

Split Enz would have been better.
