They are fresh and uncooked. I was going to steam them in the other stuff but the clip said you cook away the taste etc if you take them out of the husks. I've done them on the grill that way and they turn out good. My grill is broke. Morning Tom .... cr****

That was pretty funny for early in the morn. Has anyone cooked corn like in a Lobster pot boil? I was wondering if I could just do that the last hour or so and save some time and cleaning? Thoughts? Tom Miss C? Would the ears dry out. In the husks or out. I'm thinking out. cr****

An hour would be WAY too long. A recipe I looked up said to start with the potatoes and seasonings, cook for 8-10 minutes, add the lobster, cook 5-6 minutes, add the corn (shucked and halved) and cook another 3 minutes. If you went for an hour you'd have bland corn mush.

I didn't explain myself very well. The corn won't actually be in any water. They would sit atop the other veggies and then sort of steam. Maybe 30 mins? I should just bake them. I actually have the same problem with the spuds. I think I will just bake them too but it would have looked cooler with all the stuff in one big container. cr****

Yeah Ron. If you steam, get the water to boil for about 2-3 minutes, reduce the temp and let them steam for 5-10, til they look about right. Baking the corn is just going to dry it out.

I baked them, so tender and juicy. Great flavor and if the kitchen temp isn't an issue, that's how I will cook them in the future. I have corn husks all over my house though. Dinner always ends up as a party. I am not sure why I feed those people every week but they always are happy I do. cr****

This is how bored I am this morn. I was watching Price is Right and Sharon Osborn was on. She had no clue what this was. Drew had to explain to her and the contestant what it was. Geez cr****

Without a doubt tv but then I know more than anyone else I know about life in general. I guess that means I know a lot or know a bunch of stupid people. I did read once where no one should have an opinion on everything because you can't know everything. I sort of agree with that. Yesterday someone used the word striation which I had no idea what it meant. What to do? Look it up of course. cr****

I'm not asking which place makes the best burgers but more so, in general, do you like super thick burgers, or smash burgers as it were and flat top and thin? cr****

For me the patty itself is only one component, and different burgers work with different patties, depending on toppings, buns, cooking styles.

No matter what, nobody should ever press down on their patty while it's on the grill. Juicy burgers are always the best, no matter how thin the patty.

I prefer a thinner patty. I like more bun/toppings than hamburger meat. I recently learned to thin out the center of my burger patties a little more than the outer edges so they don't bubble up on the grill. It really helps to avoid the big ball of hamburger meat you usually get when grilling burgers.

IDK except for fancy restaurants, I thing the current phase is skinny flat ie: Freedys, Smash Burger, Two Guys all of them. Of course we all do know if you cook your own thick burgers, use your thumb and squash down the middle. Some people put a small ice cube in the middle but that only sort of worked for me ... cr****

How does sticking an ice cube up your ass work for you, Ron? Does it keep you from OD'ing?

Remember what I said, oh, five posts up about how pressing down on a burger removes the juices that make it excellent? Well, that's the whole concept behind the Foreman grill. You should actually grill.Or leave the Foreman open and just use one side.

For birdiearch, I'd suggest experimenting with what a Foreman can do to her own cheek slab.
