Thank you! Last year really was my year, but maybe they'll have something again to my liking. And more than anything, the scenery is just too beautiful

The Gorge is pretty far from Seattle. But Sasquatch is definitely worth it, regardless of Seattle.
We worked the show last year (my fiance and I are Stagehands), and set up for the Cure, the Flaming Lips, Modest Mouse, and Death Cab For Cutie, among others.
In fact, evidently we were standing right next to "rage patton", but did not realize it until reading some of his past posts today.

Obviously I'm a huge Patton fan, but I gotta say that as awesome as Crudo was, it was the Flaming Lips show that truly blew me the fuck away!
(My fiance and I actually helped build the spaceship that Wayne Coyne came out of.)

Anyhow, I highly suggest being a stagehand to anyone that wants an awesome second job.
The pay isn't great, but the perks can be pretty amazing!
(Who can complain about free shows?)
Try Rhino Staging, which is who we work for. They are in a lot of different states, so there may be one near you. We worked for Rhino in Vegas, San Diego and right now in the Pacific Northwest.
Vegas definitely pays the most, but who the hell wants to live in Vegas?
Rhino Northwest is actively hiring right now, so if your in the Tacoma/Seattle/Portland/Yakima area, you should check it out.

man, sasquatch is my dream festival. i first saw the pictures on pitchfork 07 and i got chillbumps. i love a lot of the bands that play there, and from pictures, the venue is absolutely stunning.

coachella will be my first music fest, and the reason im going to that, probably has to do with sasquatch getting my attention focused on music fests. i really want to go this year, no matter who's playing, but my girlfriend will still be in school. im debating on whether or not to hold off til '10 or go alone if i can get days off.

    hmmm..

The only thing bad about Sasquatch is the weather. Sasquatch happens in that weird time period between the rainy spring and the dry mid-Washington summer. It's totally unpredictable. One minute you're in scorching heat, the next you're freezing your ass off because of rain, wind, or freak hail.

This year will be my first Sasquatch and I sure hope that they come through with another quality line-up.

Do they have a DJ tent and if so is it generally good?

No (not that I recall), there was very little electronic music at Sasquatch. But, there is a comedy tent.

Good luck getting into said comedy tent though. You essentially have to sacrifice seeing a couple bands just to get into the tent.

Hmmm. Well comedy also suits me fine, so that serves as a nice consolation prize.

So far I am not all that impressed with the Confirmed and Rumored artists, though Sun Kil Moon would be cool and Passion Pit sounds alright.

Bonnaroo got a pretty damn good line-up...one can only hope that Sasquatch is able to come through again this year.

Yea, I am hoping to hear more confirmed groups for Sasquatch too... I'm pretty sure I'm going to suck it up and head to Bonnaroo this year. Could still make it to Sasquatch (the holiday helps, I'd really only have to take a 1/2 day off work) but that's an awful lot of money on festivals...

negatory on the DJ tent. theres the yeti stage (a small stage that was mainly NW bands), the wookie stage (which is the side stage) and the sasquatch stage (which is the main one). there was also a comedy tent that was fenced off as well.

seriously just drive from SF, its not that bad, and with gas prices what they are now it wont be that bad especially if you go up with a friend. plus the tickets are really cheap (compared to other festivals). i think last year i spent around 300 for the entire trip with tickets and gas.

I'm going to Sasquatch 2009 no matter what!!! A large group of friends already planning to go isn't hurting either. The rumored lineup is looking pretty good thus far too--KOL aside.

Any word on headliner rumors? I'm thinking TVOR, YYYs and Franz are really strong possibilities to subhead. And is KOL a Sasquatch headliner?

Other than Kings of Leon and Peter Bjorn & John, I haven't heard any of the other bands' music so far out of the confirmed/highly likely list. I also see KOL as more of a solid sub-headliner

Hopefully some more high profile acts start popping up soon for Sasquatch.

Some friends and I are trying to figure out the strongest headliner possibilities. Considering other festival headliners and bands that have or are going to play Seattle recently, I can see:

    Coldplay
    Pearl Jam
    Radiohead
    Daft Punk
    Muse ???
    Oaisis
    Blur

But doesn't Sasquatch not trip too much on sharing headliners? Knowing Coachella and Bonnaroo don't like sharing we can eliminate: Macca, The Killers, The Cure, NIN, Beastie Boys, The Boss & Phish. But most of those were already obvious anyway.

I don't think you can eliminate any headliners. Coachella and Sasquatch shared Bjork right? Didn't they share Beck with Bonnarroo one year too?

Probably three? Three apparently worked the last two years so why not?

Festivals that don't mind sloppy seconds are really though to predict...

I'm pretty sure '05 was one day. I'll have to check.

-edit- It was one day. http://www.hob.com/pics/tickets/fest...quatch_800.jpg

It was blistering hot that year too.

Travis Hay, a blogger for the PI reports that it will be three days. I have found him to be a pretty trusting source. However, someone has started a rumor on the Sasquatch! message board that it will be four, but I would not consider them a reliable source at this point. I think it will be three based on some touring schedules of confirmed/solidly rumored bands on three separate days May 23rd (Sun Kil Moon), 24th (Avett Brothers) and 25th (Tobacco from Black Moth Super Rainbow).

The weekend before Sasquatch 08 was blistering hot as well, low to mid 90s, but it dropped 10-20 degrees for the festival. It was not as hot as Sasquatch 05, which was upper 90s.

The hail storm of 06, as fun as it was, isn't the norm. I'm not sure a hail storm of that magnitude happens anywhere on the planet in late May.

The wind storm of 07 is more likely. The wind does blow there. Although, I have spent most of the last four festivals in shorts and a tee shirt during the day, and warmer clothes at night. It is a safe bet it will be 38-48 degrees in the middle of the night, but 71 to 83 during the day. Rain is not extremely common that time of year, but it does happen.
    Skrillex 2013 tour dates:

    4/12/13-4/21/13 POLO FIELD-SIZED GAP
    7/12/13 - Montreal, Canada
    7/13/13 - Toronto, Canada
    7/17/13 - Winnipeg, Canada
    7/19/13 - Calgary, Canada
