Mountain Oasis Festival: 10/25-27
Coachella: 4/11-13 @ Empire Polo Fields
what a shitty first band... i hope the lineup is good this year...
I actually hope it is a very mediocre, or even bad, line up this year. There is no possible way I can go. So it would make me feel better. Sorry Jared, thats just the selfish side of me.
By the way, did you go in 08? I don't think you did... but there were a lot of bands you liked playing, so maybe you did go...
We need to get used to KOL showing up near the top of lineups of our festivals, they're only getting bigger. And really, there are far worse bands out there, guys.
Sweet!
Lick an orange, it tastes like an orange. Lick a pineapple, it tastes like a pineapple. Go ahead, try it. Try some more. The strawberries taste like strawberries. The snozzberries taste like snozzberries! We are the music makers, and we are the dreamers of dreams. Come along, come along.
Your whats on fire?
Sasquatch always looks like fun but too far for not good enough line ups imo
but 07 I came close to going
Last year was my year if I was ever going to do it. FLips, The Cure, REM... Alas, it's just too soon after Coachella for another cross-country vacation.
i drove from LA up there for the show last year. the venue is quite simply the most lovely i have been to. the campgrounds also are a way bigger party than that of coachella. also the headliners get as long as they want and the band before gets around an hour and a half. plus the tickets to the fest if you get them early are pretty cheap. it would have cost me more just to see rem and the cure at the hollywood bowl (for the good tickets) than camping and tickets to the three days cost me. also free vitamin water and beef jerky each day when you walked in.

it's a good festival, but they really need to drop the exclamation point from the name.
Kings of Leon should go back to looking scruffy and dirty
Then I will hold you down and spit her percolations all over you until you're as greasy as the day she regrets pushing your big fat ass out her big fat cunt.
you are treading on thin ice, thom thom. i suggest you shape up.

it took about 20 hours. its hard to estimate because i drove with a friend and we stopped a few times. also no speeding through Oregon, those cops are all over waiting for you. and seriously you have to drive through these like small ass towns with barns with no roofs and the speed limit will be 15 and there will be a cop at the sign that will pull out and follow you through the entire town. heck one cop went around us and sped up only to be seen waiting on the side of the road by one of these barns a few miles ahead trying to catch me speeding.

Fuck I am going this year! I've been trying to get to Sasquatch the past two years and it looks like this is the year to make it happen
uhhhhh you cant take the 5 all the way to sasquatch.... i did use the 5 most of the way but had to switch to the 97 in oregon. also max speed limit in oregon seemed to be like 55. i never saw anything for 65 or 70 like i am use to. oh and they pump your gas there which is cool, but shitty when driving through at around 2am and wondering why your card wont work at any station and why a cop is flashing you down with his lights yelling at you through the intercom to stop trying to pump gas....

You seem to have driving issues. I'm guessing female?

Speed Limit in Oregon on Interstates is 65. Assuming you were coming from SoCal...I-5 all the way to Portland, West on I-84, North on I-82...now you're in Washington. I don't know how those roads are in Washington, but your complaint was with Oregon.
Taking the 97 is certainly more scenic, and probably quite a bit shorter, but I doubt it's quicker. So the choice was yours- save gas and savor the beauty, or drive faster. I would have taken 97 too, but I'm not going to bitch about the speed limit. Don't blame it on the state, it was your choice.
EDIT...According to MS Streets and Trips...
Interstates- 1256 miles...18 Hours and 28 minutes.
Hwy 97- 1146 miles...18 hours and 38 minutes.
However, I've found that those time estimates are always low on the back roads and high on the interstates. I'd bet the interstates would be an hour or three faster, unless you hit Portland at rush hour. But you're going to burn a lot more gas, and the drive up I-5 through Oregon is perhaps the only part of the state that isn't beautiful. (I-84 is awesome, though.)
Depending on the time of day, it might be quicker to go further north on I-5... as the speed limit is 70 until you are past olympia.
