Old man rap that's actually good!

    Q-Tip is the fucking man.

Also, if you've ever wanted to know what a proper sequel to Hell Hath No Fury or the long lost Famlay album might sound like (especially production-wise), FatKidsBrotha from Atlanta just put out a free album that you'll probably enjoy: http://indy.livemixtapes.com/mixtape...aradise-2.html

    5. American Gangster (4 1/2, cohesive)
    6. Magna Carta (Fuckwit, Tom Ford, Oceans, Beach, On the Run, Grail)
    7. Vol. 1 (Sunshine kills this album... fuck... Streets, Where I'm from, You Must Love Me...)
    8. BP3 (Sorry critics, it's good. Empire (Gave Frank a run for his money))
    9. Dynasty (Intro alone...)
    10. Vol. 3 (Pimp C verse alone... oh, So Ghetto)
    11. BP2 (Too many songs. Fucking Guru and Hip Hop, ha)
    12. Kingdom Come (First game back, don't shoot me)"

glad to see he knows kingdom come sucked. reasonable doubt and the black album are my favorites. i think blueprint is super overrated, and american gangster is underrated. still haven't given magma a shot.
I like his rankings..Personally the only change I would make is Black Album over Blueprint, and Vol 3 over Dynasty. MCHG is good. Theres about 6 - 8 songs that I really like, but the rest is forgettable.

I was going to for sure see Nas, and maybe Flatbush Zombies and Chance at Coachella. Glad I can free up a few names at Coachella with this lineup.

oh yeah, I saw this at the LA screening at Cinefamily last year. Absolutely fascinating, and very well done. The subject is right in my wheelhouse, so I was probably going to love it either way, but I think even people not super into hip-hop or the label will find it interesting.

edit: sooooo much good rap music coming out in the next week. Vince Staples on thursday, and YG's album and the Freddie Gibbs/Madlib record both come out a week from tomorrow. Oh yeah, and Future's new album finally has a release date for next month and the tracklist is looking real nice.
