Madlib isn't that popular but he produced Madvilliany (the album from MF Doom) not sure if it's his best work but his most popular. Dilla is an underground legend. R.I.P Even though I've been critical of the praise he has gotten since he passed he does have some classic beats

    And some Madlib stuff

Also Dilla and Madlib made a dope ass album together

Dilla has so many classics. He messed around with a lot of styles and sounds. Here are some favorites:

And pretty much everything on Donuts. Madlib is a genius, too. Two of my favorite all-time producers.

oooo I like where this thread has headed. More Dilla and Madlib productions.

If you havent checked out this MED album produced almost entirely by Madlib, you should definitely check it out.
FYI: this track isnt a Madlib production.

Okay, so I couldn't see those vids from work, but I am familiar with most of them.

It's definitely a sound that works for Black Star, but not necessarily the type of hip hop production I prefer.

Has anybody heard the new Drake album? Any thoughts?
I thought it was pretty cool. Nice R&B feel with a lot of the songs on it. I'll give it a 7/10

I must say about the Drake album it gets better with every listen. I think the lyrics in songs like Make Me Proud, Practice, Marvins Room and Take Care made me not like the album because it sounded like Dr. Phil but once I realize he's essentially talking to women on all the songs it's gotten better.

Songs I love: Doing It Wrong, Crew Love, HYFR, Look What You've Done, Lord Knows, Cameras/Good Ones Go, Undergroud Kings, Buried Alive (Interlude)
Songs I like: Headlines, Marvin's Room, Take Care, The Real Her (Andre's part)
Songs I hate: Practice, Make Me Proud, We'll Be Fine, The Real Her (Lil Wayne & Drake)
Songs I don't know how I feel about: Over My Dead Body, Shot For Me

just gotta give my props to these boards for introducing me to some new rappers in the game since I'm an old-skooler and been off the hip-hop radar for a minute... diggin' Kendrick Lamar, Danny Brown, Curren$y, Das Racist, and I do listen to Odd Future.... got introduced to hip-hop in Jr. High back in the mid 80's when KDAY was a block away where I live now in Echo Park.. I bought all the rap LPs that came out on vinyl at Rockaway Records and I got hooked more on the East Coast freestyle flow like BDP, Nas, ATCQ, and Public Enemy... but gotta admit I also love my West Coast gansta raps and .. here's some trax i used to spin alot back in the dayz ...

There's a ton of new rappers producing great music. You just have to sift through the mediocrity

    Very true.

But I feel Hip Hop gets it the most with people saying "New artists suck"

It sounds like Drake has more creative control on this album. He's more introspective and less flamboyant (to a certain degree). I thought 40's production on Thank Me Later sounded too redundant, but he stepped it up on this one. I do think the album can do without several tracks: "Practice," "We'll Be Fine," "Shot For Me." Other than that, it's a solid release and I didn't expect anything different from Aubrey.

BTW RIP Heavy D. *plays "Candy Rain"*
