So, I had no idea this came out this year until I searched for recent rap stuff on emusic. It's a box set of most of Charizma and Peanut Butter Wolf's work.

Sadly, Charizma was killed in 1993. In 2003, Stones Throw released Big Shots, an album of finished tracks Charizma and PBW had done. I found out about it when a music writer on the AV Club said it was one of the best underground rap releases he had ever heard. I loved the album, great hip hop and great production. I highly recommend checking it out, it's got this:

We're here to play some Mississippi Delta Blues. We're in a horrible depression, and I gotta admit - we're starting to like it.

    Nas + J Dilla =

The Mass Appeal crew headed out to Nitehawk Cinema in Brooklyn to celebrate the release of Killer Mike and El-P’s Run The Jewels 2. The event included a special screening of The Warriors, as well as a Q&A with the dudes. Things were going surprisingly smooth, when out came Nas to congratulate Mike and Jamie on their recent success.

However, his appearance wasn’t the only surprise he had in store, as he went on to drop a new track titled “The Season.”

Rhyming over J Dilla’s timeless “Gobstopper” beat, Nas waxes poetic about being a hip hop king unable to enjoy the fruits of his spoils, for various reasons. There’s a line in which he denounces that Jay Electronica or Jay Z write his rhymes, while clarifying that one of the major influences on his material is his brother Jungle. Nas also proves he’s been keeping his ear to the streets, dropping a reference to OG Maco’s “U Guessed It.”

Run the Jewels 2= simultaneously murdered hip hop, and brought it back to life. That is all that ever needs to be said about the best hip hop album of 2014, and of this decade so far.

    Looking forward this!!!

"P.eace young world this is the Badmon Jozif and I just want to thank all of my supporters and fans for being so patient with me as I finished my first album. The wait is finally almost over and the release date is locked and loaded. After discovering my birthday falls on a Tuesday (the day of the week all albums drop) next year I decided to save the album drop for then (1.20.15). I thought it was the best time to cause a shift. It's always been a goal of mine to drop a project on my birthday and the premonition has finally come into fruition. The number 120 is very unique and symbolic to me as well. My 1st album on my 20th birthday this was destiny." - B4.DA.$$ P.eace!

I downloaded this a few months ago after John Darnielle mentioned 'Regular Girl' in a column he wrote for eMusic. The lyrics are frequently XXX, but also kind of bizarre and funny. The production's pretty good too.

I don't know much of Kool Keith except for this album, Critical Beatdown, and 'Blue Flowers'.
