It sounds like Drake has more creative control on this album. He's more introspective and less flamboyant (to a certain degree). I thought 40's production on Thank Me Later sounded too redundant, but he stepped it up on this one. I do think the album can do without several tracks: "Practice," "We'll Be Fine," "Shot For Me." Other than that, it's a solid release and I didn't expect anything different from Aubrey.

BTW RIP Heavy D. *plays "Candy Rain"*

I bought Dead Ringer by RJD2 today. I forgot how awesome this album is, and how killer it sounded when it came out. The Final Frontier is such a banging track.

New track released by Michael Ozowuru & Vince Staples! Ozowuru is a genius at production and a super cool dude and Vince is definitely a rapper to look out for, I have a feeling they're both gonna come up big soon. Can't wait for that tape!

YES. Two of my favorites right now. This song is crazy.

I've all but given up on that Vince Staples album though.

Fuck yeah man! Uzoworu is a genius and I've liked Staples ever since I first heard him on Epar. Taxi is so great too.

Yeah, i guess it's because since Matt Martians is mastering/producing it and he's been busy wth the Internet it's been being pushed back. Like Vince's verses/hooks have been sitting in Matt's studio, but I heard Matt is gonna start on it soon. That tape is gonna drop jaws

The new G-Side album is spectacular. Their best yet, for sure.

I have no idea. I'd definitely be interested though. This is their second album this year. Good stuff.

Freddie Gibbs is hilarious live. Saw him at some Pitchfork thing in Brooklyn... it was definitely weird haha.

If you guys are into Three 6 Mafia or that style of music you should really check out Juicy J's new tape "Blue Dream and Lean". I thought it was gonna suck for some reason but this shit is so sick! Definitely great music to get buck to

    Awesome.

    Digable Planets reunite

Jazzy hip-hop group Digable Planets have officially reunited and are preparing for a new tour and album.
Sources confirmed to AllHipHop.com that original group members Butterfly, Cee Knowledge and Lady Mecca are back together, planning a comeback for 2012.

Digable Planets struck platinum in 1993 with their album Reachin’ (A New Refutation of Time and Space.
The album produced songs like “Nickle Bags” and the Top 20 single “Rebirth of Slick (Cool Like Dat),” which earned the group a Grammy Award.

Digable Planets parted ways almost 18 years ago, shortly after the release of their critically acclaimed 1994 album Blowout Comb. During their hiatus, each member pursued different projects.

Butterfly formed the Neo-soul group Cherrywine, Cee Knowledge fronted the Cosmic Funk Orchestra.
Lady Mecca released several solo projects and was featured on the “Baby Loves Hip-Hop” children’s CD’s.

Digable Planets’ new tour itinerary is currently being finalized, while a release date or title was not available for the group’s album of new material as of press time.

    Digable Planets >>> Shabazz Palaces

I like both, but the latest SP album was really weak to me in comparison with their first two projects.

I just finished reading all 64 pages of this thread, this is my contribution. Reef the Lost Cauze is everything that's good about hip-hop. First time I went to see him the show was poorly promoted and under 100 people were in attendance. Not only did he not complain about the small crowd in his home town (Philly) he put on an incredible energetic show.

Also he's part of a collective Army of the Pharaoh's (AOTP) started by Vinnie Paz from Jedi Mind Tricks. There is no shortage of MC skills among these guys.
