i know a few people who don't like texting on the iphone since you kinda have to look at the screen to do it, according to them. whereas with phones with buttons, you can feel around without having to look at the screen. but that's the only real complaint i've heard.
can you text without looking at the screen? i'm just curious as to how you "know" what keys you're on, i've never used one personally.
and can you IM on the iphone? someone told me when they first came out you couldn't.
Well if you are going to be hooking up a computer regularly, I would recommend going with and LCD, which is similar to a giant computer monitor anyway. Be sure to check and see what the native and maximum resolutions on the TV are so you know your displaying capabilities. For LCDs I would say Sony makes the best ones out there, and the Panasonic equivalent would be something like a Samsung.
Thanks for the tip... I've been on a shitty 8 year old TV forever now... Looking around at the advantages/disadvantages of LCD it looks like that is my best bet.

I'm still on a CRT monitor.
I imagine you could without looking... But it's would be as easy as with tactile buttons.
you can't IM on the iPhone on software that apple makes... I'm not sure if there is an application on the itunes store... but I jailbroke mine and can use instant messaging that way. either way, with an unlimited text plan, I end up just texting most of the time.
you can't copy and paste... Which is a reasonable problem, but also a reasonable design issue for apple to figure out. the copy and paste on the storm that just came out is atrocious and after using it I totally understand why apple has spent so much time working copy/paste out.
oh wow, so do you have to pay for IM's some other way then?
and i would guess a screen is different than tactile buttons, because on tactile buttons, there's generally a bump on the 5 key or something similar so you can tell where your fingers are without looking. thanks for answering my questions![]()
FUCK YES!
Thank you for the support. Donations can be made through PayPal.
HR, what do you got on media players. im anti ipod and need to play .flac. also, i would like 80+ gigs. Ive been doing some looking and am pretty sure of my options, just figure id throw it out there again.
Marooko. I run a Logitech Squeezebox at home and stream a database of about 20,000 FLAC files I have ripped myself. I love it. I don't bother with FLAC for portable, I just rip every CD I buy into mp3 and FLAC.

It looks as if Donald is the person to ask here as I stick with mp3s and Apple products for the most part. I am not sure if the Zune can support flac or not, but it does have some pretty cool features and a sizable hard drive. If you are talking about going portable that is.
A squeezebox is just what I need.
I can't recommend one enough. I have the classic model. The newer models have a really cool remote interface.
