That'd be disappointing. But I'm imagining a full scale U.S. tour anyway so eh. I'll take what I can get.

Bjork is definitely bigger than Blur. At least in America. And probably more as a result of her eccentric antics (i.e. that "swan dress" girl). And I can't speak for Ben Harper/Wilco, being that they've never headlined Coachella. But they all have more RIAA certifications than Blur, who just have a single gold album awarded way back in 1997. Honestly, the best they could hope for is to "co-headline" until a bigger name gets confirmed, a la Prince and Portishead/Kraftwerk in 2008. I do wonder if GV intends on pulling that crap in the future or if Prince was just too much of a risk of pulling out to confirm so far in advance.

"We'll do something in London because that seems sensible," he said, "but we're also playing in other parts of the country working up to there."
working up to there huh, what exactly does that mean?

Friday night -
JANE'S ADDICTION
BLUR
Fuck.
So it was Patton?
imo 13 is their best album. theres something about the whole album and when i got it as a kid listening to it on headphones and thinking it all sounded so strange. like the noise in battle that goes from one ear to the other. ugh, just my favorite by them, i have a live recording from when they toured 13 where they play the album in its entirety and its quite fantastic.
that pass code is taken now, hope who sent me the first messae is actualy going to go and not scalp them....

i agree... but if Portishead can headline, arguably so could Blur (and like you said, Gorillaz)
yes i agree, however it would require that they were playing on the same day with a Radiohead or a Nine Inch Nails... (or a Prince)
Blur would be a better band...
Gorillaz would be a bigger spectacle...
...and either would be welcome at Coach...

My head just exploded at the possibility of Blur playing Coachella.
Blur & Bowie. My dream concert.
"Well, that's just like, you know... your opinion, man"
blur woul d be a good headliner at coachella along with bowie and New Order Pixies are very good pick for headliners i bet one of them will be there as a late add .JANE'S ADDICTION would be good to just for a sub-headliner
I like 13 too. it took a few years for me to get into it. I think the world had a pretty dry reaction to it initially. but now I like it a lot. not all of it, but the parts I like I love. ultimately I like serious blur more than fun blur. I have a video of one of those concerts, or most of it anyway. pretty cool stuff.
Tickets for Hyde Park were £45. It's the day before the Wireless festival starts in Hyde Park, which means a lot of other acts will probably be announced (with 3 other stages in the park). I can't imagine they will sit empty.
if this is their first show I'm guessing no coachella appearance. strange, the article says this is going to be the first since 2000...they played coachella in 2003.

That was one of my first shows & one of the best I've ever been to.
Blur, Bjork, Beastie Boys, Pavement, Taj Majal, Rancid...
good times.
Also, saw Blur at the first krock disfunctional family picnic in Forest Hills, NY.
They were awesome both times. I'd love to see them at Coachella.
I don't know which blur thread to post in. so many choices.
did anyone else buy tickets? I forgot to stay up last night so I woke up this morning and found out the friday show was sold out and they had added a thursday show. I got two tickets to that. woo!
