Who would you like to see as this year's hard punk/metal act?
i'd say all these are better choices than Enter Shikari, Scars on Broadway, & Serj Tankian...

damn... i should have put Black Label Society on there... not that it would ever happen...
I think Ministry or Sex Pistols would maybe be the best fit.
they're pretty terrible alright. I'd rather see dragonforce. and I don't like dragonforce.
Yeah, sorry but this list sucks. One of the only decent bands on it (Ministry) broke up for good so they have about a 0% chance of playing.
i like otep and i'd say no to coachella for them but i'd say sex pistols off the list would be the most likely...
i'd add dethklok (metalocolypse)

Is everything that you don't like a "joke"?
Heh...
I am 48. My daughter started listening to them years ago, and I got hooked.
There is a lot of emotion and the music is actually more complex than you might think at first.
I know a majority of their fans are teenage girls...
They are very good live.
saw gojera and in flames tonight, good show but couldn't see them working the tents

Upcoming Shows:
Pitchfork Festival: 7/19 @ Union Park
Mountain Oasis Festival: 10/25-27
oh god please fucking no
some of the worst bands I've ever seen live:
inflames
children of bodom
as I lay dying
killswitch engage
american head charge
from first to last
some GOOD live metal:
megadeth have greatly improved their live show. not saying they're coachella material. they'd have to go on at night on an outdoor stage- no other way they'd do it
mudvayne, although rather outside of most coachella audience's realm, are an incredibly technical, very tight live band. their bass player absolutely can not be human. there's just no way. he's at least part machine. they've got two really good albums, one 50/50, and one I haven't heard yet. they're also not averse to smaller venues (nighttime gobi against a headliner maybe?), as I saw them in a small club right after they did the main stage at rock am ring
gwar are impossibly tight live. I don't know HOW they manage to shred like that in those costumes, but they do it. the sound is absolutely punishing.
