I usually have an amazing time at Ultra, but mind you:

OMG you can rave from the buildings!!! That is amazing. I love it when people who live in the high rises give light shows to the spectators. Happens in LA all the time. I wish I could go to Ultra but it is too close to Coachella...2010 hopefully.

Look, I'm not going to Coachella this year. I went the last 3 years and pretty much saw everyone I was willing to fly to California to see. But between Ultra and Lango, I'll be saving about a thousand bucks and still seeing great bands while sleeping in my bed at night. Hollaaaaa!

SB, I'm an Eagle Scout. I've spent over 300 nights in tents, I've completed my camping quota for life. I'm into A/C, TV and drinking a cold beer in bed now when I've spent the entire day sweating outside. I'm a grown ass man.

Just signed up to these boards because I wanted to chime in about the first phase of the Ultra lineup. What I don't understand is how more people aren't talking about Simian Mobile Disco being there!

Simian is by far my #1 act to see this year (well Cut Copy is right up there) and restored my faith in Ultra. I almost didn't go last year until they added Underworld (who I had never seen), but this year is a must attend it looks like. I'll be interested to see that Langerado lineup which drops tomorrow.

But fuck Tiesto as a headliner, I don't mind so much that he is there cause he draws a big crowd away but as a headliner yeah that's just lazy. Def something bigger coming though, I'd take the Chems over prodigy personally.

And buy your tickets second hand through ebay or craigslist or something like that. I got a 2 day pass for $100 evn last year, will do the same this year.

Hey man, I actually have a bit of a story about that. Last year I purchased some wristbands on Craigslist, met the guy in person, gave him like $100 a piece for 2 days and proceeded to get rejected at the door.

Some guy who worked for WMC saw our wristbands after we were rejected and noted that those were 4 years old. Luckily, this same dude got us in that day for free and the guy who sold me the tickets actually picked up his phone again and gave me my money back.

Point is, yes you can buy your tickets online for less money, but never, ever buy a wristband.

Yeah I think wristbands are for VIP, definitely only buy an actual ticket, they are very big and would be nearly impossible to do a good fake of. And yes music starts around 4pm friday and at noon saturday.

One thing that has always pissed me off about ultra is how they refuse to release the schedule before hand. They print out time sheets for both the days so at least you find everything out right when you get there, but still come on. Their website is garbage too yuck. I have mixed feelings about Ultra as a whole but they do always get quality acts but there's a lot of shit there.

I heard Beck for Langerado, can't wait to see if that's confirmed or not.

I'm looking forward to out massive ULTRA party that will surely be assembled. You're right about the tickets, this year a friend of mine was able to get me a saturday ticket for free and I found a friday one on craig's list for $50. I never went Saturday, so I sold that ticket and made a profit!! (I'm not scummy, I just really couldnt make it friday)

I think the first phase of Ultra is pretty good.

I don't see why people are so annoyed by Tiesto. He's like Widespread Panic at Bonnaroo. He's a staple.
