Thread: Headliner Ideas....

  1. #1

    Default Headliner Ideas....

My best friend saw the Smiths (every member including Morrissey) at Cat and Fiddle together here in LA. Could they be possibly planning a reunion and possibly a spot at Coahella 2009?

Also No Doubt confirmed to play Bamboozle festival first weekend of May. Coachella could be an option as well.

Killers are strongly rumored as well, but are they headlining material?

In light of the Bamboozle announcement I am fairly certain No Doubt will not be at Coachella. I guess if the Smiths really do play they can book Jane's as a Headliner. They can pretty much book anyone they want cause the Smiths will bring a massive crowd from all over the world.

An English pub. Apparently Morrissey hangs out there sometimes.

I like The Smiths but they are not like David Bowie that I would go if I know for sure he is going to be there. The Smiths headlining is just making it less likely for Bowie closing out the festival in Sunday. The lineup (esp. subheadliners) has be really that awesome for me if its The Killers, Jane's Addiction and The Smiths headlining.

    I'll get super excited with

    Friday:
    Nothing/whatev

    Saturday:
    The Smiths

    Sunday:
    David Bowie

Hehe I love that I was able to get tickets to Area2 Festival in Irvine Meadows at the Box Office day of in 2002 where David Bowie was headlining. The festival was nowhere near to selling out and now about 7 yrs later everyone is panting for him to come to LA.

Where was everyone back in 2002 in LA?

BTW, Bowie was utterly amazing that night, he pretty much played a greatest hits set and was definitely one of the most memorable performances. Pretty much everyone in the crowd was singing to every song.
Coachella 01' - 13' and still counting..... 13th year!!!! Geez, I'm getting old..

That's pretty cool. If he was finally hanging out with Marr again, then who knows what might happen from there.

Holy shit, maybe there's truth to this. Someone posted video of them sitting together at Pig & Whistle. Blurry, though.

One of my teachers took another one of my teachers' sister to a barry manilow concert in high school so now there is a bitter rivalry. The other day i went into my teachers room and there was a life sized barry manilow cut out behind his desk and all of his icons on his computer were deleted and his back ground was barry manilow's face.

If it was Jack Johnson, The Killers, The Smiths, I'd still be there. Hell, if all the other bands playing were Nickelback clones, I'd still go for The Smiths.

Yeah, my friend saw the same thing as your friend when he was at the Cat and Fiddle. He said they were all drinking at the bar, while all members of The Clash including the reanimated corpse of Joe Strummer threw darts a couple steps away.

Didn't he tour with Annie Lennox not too long ago, too, and even that was given a lukewarm reception?

eh... i'd take Aerosmith over Coldplay or Jack Johnson... The Killers feels about equal to me... but i'd rather see No Doubt haha

they just don't feel like a Coach-esque band to me... at least JJ did...

Aerosmith should be taken out of the Coachella headliner discussion. Permanently.
