    Default Interviews with Recording Artists

    Just curious as to what rockstar/musician interviews rank among your favorites, as well as what are your experiences with interviewing musicians (if you've ever done that sort of thing before). In related news, I'll be interviewing Mark Farina for my radio show in the near future. So feel free to leave any questions you want to know of the House of Om long-time house artist.
    Upcoming Shows:
    * Dillon Francis + Anamanaguchi -- December 28th

    Going to Weekend 1 of Coachella 2014

    That's the one I was thinking of, yes. Agonising, every second of it.

    Let's go with radio/televised. Print interviews, hate to say it, just don't engage me as well as seeing/hearing the actual artist say what they mean.

    Well, fuck it. I was going to talk about print interviews ANYWAY.

    I interviewed Conor Oberst last fall for the Bright Eyes/LA Philharmonic show. Very nice, gracious guy:

    I've interviewed a lot of actors...But that's not what you really wanted, is it?

    Ok, so video interviews, yeah? I started working for another music website, and as it's going, I'll get to do some video interviews starting in January. We're looking for me to nab (no surprises here) Animal Collective. Woot.

    BUT

    Speaking of Animal Collective, they recently were interview by some Polish joint, and the article was published in Polish. Someone on the AC boards used Google translate to bring it back to English. You can get a lot out of it, but it does bring the LOLZ, especially when "band" is translated to "team," and the new album is referred to by female pronouns, like a ship:

    I was this close to making a demotivator poster about the irony of that statement, Blackswan.

    Morrissey interviews have always been fantastic and Johnny Rotten/Lydon interviews are hilarious.
