We had this discussion in another thread - it was only released in Sweden and the American version was different and released in the U.S. this year.

But I don't know if that makes it a DQ for 2008 lists - I left it off mine initially but saw it on somebody else's. Also I think it was 2007 not 2005.

I should listen to it again. It just felt so flat the first time I listened to it... I will try again.

I got to see Robyn's acoustic performance last spring at the W Hotel... she really does have a beautiful voice and is super soft spoken in person. the fact that she did a song with The Knife and a Teddybears cover gives her major bonus points.

Wow, there's lots of metal in that list. At least they really liked Third, but a live album at #1? Really?

The only problem with that is that any albums released between now and the end of year get fucked over by that being posted here early...

It takes only a few moments to copy and paste. Not to mention that that's already an inherent flaw in the thread being made this early anyway.

Yes, because there are pop albums coming out this year that major publications have not received advances for....

The issue with metacritic is they generally don't post an album up until the release date, where some of these other lists have albums on them that have not been released yet.

Just about everyone one of these list had Bon Iver on it. I think this is personal. The notable sources are taking jabs a Jared.

Metaciritc always has strange ones at the top, rarely are they epic "album of the year" types, save for maybe Stankonia... that Uncut list is pretty good though, I like it. Glad to be seeing Third make the rounds, I hope to see it more.

Well you could have pretty easily predicted it would be on so many, it got hardly any less-than-stellar reviews...

Again with the Bon Iver. Again with the no Deerhunter.

The amount of times Bon Iver has been listed on the above lists, gives the 2008 release argument validity.
