it's about time:
it's about time:
My newest is just about healed. Never been one for tattoos based on bands, but there is one record that has 2 of my favorite musicians of all time, Grohl and Homme. That album has gotten me through so many rough moments with my health, from near death episodes to countless weeks in the hospital, and dozens of times recovering from surgery. so went ahead and got the pitchfork logo from qotsa's "songs for the deaf" on my forearm.

Where did I say I waited for months? Been considering getting it for awhile, or something related to queens. Got out of the hospital a couple weeks ago, the mood struck, called the shop and my guy had an opening so went straight in for it that night.

Penis Tattoo Leads to Permanent Erection
By Katie Moisse, ABC News

A 21-year-old Iranian man has a permanent semi-erection after having “borow be salaamat” (good luck with your journeys) and the letter “M” (his girlfriend’s initial) tattooed on his penis.
The man, whose name is unknown, was diagnosed with nonischemic priapism — a condition resulting from the inability of blood to exit the penis. His case was detailed in the latest issue of the Journal of Sexual Medicine.
“In our case, most probably, the handheld needle penetrated the penis too deep, creating an arteriovenous fistula,” wrote the study authors from Kermanshah University of Medical Sciences in Kermanshah, Iran. A fistula is a connection between two organs or vessels — in this case an artery and a vein — that normally don’t connect.
“For eight days after tattooing, the penis was painful, and thus there were no erections,” the authors wrote. “After that, the patient noticed longer-than-usual sleep-related erections. This progressed, within a week, to a constantly half-rigid penis, day and night.”
Men are advised to seek medical attention for an erection lasting more than four hours.
During a normal erection, blood rushes into the penis through the arteries to build up pressure and later leaves through the veins. But in nonischemic priapism, blood continues to enter faster than it can leave, causing persistent pressure and a permanent erection. The problem resolves naturally 62 percent of the time, the researchers reported. And when it doesn’t, men have the option of selective arterial embolism — a procedure that blocks the offending artery.
Instead, the Iranian man chose to have a shunt implanted to drain the excess blood, according to the report.
“Predictably, the procedure was unsuccessful,” the authors wrote. “Because of the painless nature of erections, moderately good preservation of erectile function during intercourses, and disappointment with former surgery, the patient has declined to undergo further therapies, and lives with his condition.”
Despite his permanent erection, the man has no regrets over his penis tattoo, according to the report. Nevertheless, the report authors advise against the practice.
“Based on our unique case, we discourage penile tattooing,” they wrote.
Got this little guy today. Sure as hell made me realize how faded my old one is. Definitely retouching that one asap.
I'm gonna get another tattoo this year. It's going to be something with doves and the name or initials of my son in it. Here's the picture I showed the artist, which is the kind of tattoo I want.
The doves represents the love and devotion that I will always have for my son ;p. It's being designed now. I think the artist is going to make one with my sons full name and one with only his initials. So I can see what I like better. What do you guys think?
I'll upload a pic if its done.
I think this is the most random first post on the message board ever.
Also, don't ever ask what people think regarding a tattoo. It is a personal thing, their opinion has no bearing. If it does, don't get it.
I want a bird silhouette too... thinking about getting this guy somewhere on my shoulder.
I'm now looking for an artist. Can any of you NorCal/bay area folks recommend a favorite?
Matt at analog - San Jose
Or Jason at bound by tradition in Fresno (my recommendation)

Never heard of Goldrush.
Heard a lot of great things about Eighth Element.
Gonna get the lyric in my sig hopefully in the next month or two. I'll check out both places.
What style are you getting and how big
If you're waiting that long I'm assuming its a multi-session piece?
Nothing to big. I want a portrait or my grandpa I posted a few pages back. A Japanese style phoenix. I don't have any yet but those are my two ideas I have in my mind. Couple of reasons why it's being delayed. First off it was going to be my reward to myself for a weight loss goal. Then I had some car issues so my tattoo found went to that. Then I decided to delay it until after the family weddings I have coming up mainly do to my grandma would probably freak out (Jews aren't supposed to get tattoos). So now I am waiting for those weddings to end which will be in another couple months and I have decided to make it another weight loss goal (so I don't slack off after I get the tattoo).
I thought it was due to the artist being booked months ahead + your well thought out piece you are planning...
You have to post the finished product after it heals properly
Also since its your first and for what it's worth
I usually take 3 natural b complex vitamins to help get thru 3+hrs of pain
Each visit (it gives you calm energy and help with the stress the body is going thru while being carved)
I have 22hrs of work done and trust me they don't get any easier
Good luck man can't wait to see the finished product
I'll post my arm when done
It's a coachella style piece for my son
Mix of 2010's Emek poster with a year of the tiger twist

Footixy, That sounds like it could be really great. I wish I could do that.
This is a weird question but how do you guys feel about a kid getting a tattoo? Age 13 or 14. In a non public place like shoulder blade. My daughter has expressed interest.
