Default MOVIES by director, actor or actress

as a spin off to the Artist discography thread, I think we should have something like that for movies too in which we'll discuss movies by director, actor or actress such as what movies to watch first, the best ones and so forth.
I'd like to start by listing movies done by Quintin Tarantino. I've watched most of his movies but there are a few out there I haven't seen yet. If someone would like to take a spin on to what ones to watch first, or the best, please persist!
Anyways, this is a list of most of his well known movies, from first to last.
    As a director-
    Reservoir Dogs (1992)
    Pulp Fiction (1994)
    Four Rooms (1995)
    Jackie Brown (1997)
    Kill Bill Volumes 1 & 2 (2003/2004)
    Sin City (2005)
    Grindhouse (2007)
I'd say the best out of all these movies would be Kill Bill, Volumes 1 & 2, simply because they were both excellent movies in terms of what they were about-mostly of course, revenge & violence. Alot of people would probably disagree on me there, but for myself, those movies would always inspire me. The first movie I'd request for a new Quintin Tarantino fan to watch would be Pulp Fiction, and the second, Reservoir Dogs, both classic Quntin Tarantino movies. Anybody have a different out take?

Except you could probably talk about each movie individually...

I will contribute to this, but only if people give a shit.

I'm a movie fanatic. I'll also contribute (and I'll have much more material than I would in the artist discography thread).

I'll challenge you for Burton. Or if you're less familiar with some I'll take them. He was actually one of the first I thought of.

She has not, I'm 99.99% sure. And not to get to far off topic, but I 100% agree, which is why she's at SalahRoo. The big diff between Coachella and Bonnaroo is that Bonnaroo gets a lot more country-ish, folky, bluegrassy acts, which I love. Dolly would fit like a glove in slot BB King had this year. Something fun in the daytime to smoke and dance to before your brain gets splattered by the cure or KISS

He's been my favorite director since I was a little kid. I know all his work. But you can go ahead and take him, and ill maybe add my 2 cents. This board makes me way too shy to post anything serious or analytical

Some of the stuff would be too big to try and tackle though, like Tom Hanks or Tim Burton? They have tons of movies that are all excellent-where would you ever start?

Any filmography that doesn't acknowledge Ed Wood as his greatest film is going to come under serious retribution from me.

Tom Hanks... Uh. I took a glance at his filmography and saw maybe two "excellent" movies...

I'm up for splitting it. I'm sure I have some different opinions.

And Ed Wood is not his greatest movie, for starters.

I can name 4 great Tom hanks movies off the top of my head-Joe Vs the Volcano, Cast Away, Saving Ryan Privates, and that one where he is walking around with a tommy gun. Road to Perdition.

I won't even start on most of those (the only one arguable in my mind is Perdition, which is interesting)... But Saving Private Ryan... Fucking hell. Probably the most manipulative, deceptive war film in American cinema. I'm not even going to talk about it, it's not worth it.

He directed the scene in the car with Benicio Del Toro's corpse talking, but that's all.

everyone has their own views though. Tom Hanks just happens to me my favorite actor but he does have some pretty dissapointing movies-like the ladykillers or that other one where he is in the airport. (i forget what that one's called)

Tom Hanks has been in many good mainstream films that are pretty entertaining, but I'm not sure if any of them are great

wait, I don't care what anyone else thinks, I love Forrest Gump..entertaining as hell

He seems pretty normal and likable for the huge star that he is, so I'll always cut him some slack (although I watched The Green Mile for the first time the other day, and it was pretty sappy and made me laugh several times)

The only Burton movies that I really enjoy are Ed Wood and Pee Wee...

BTW, I rewatched The Dark Knight again recently, and that movie is fucking horseshit. So utterly crappy. Ironman is at least five times better. It was pathetic. And if you're going to claim that the original Batman is worse than that, we're fucking fighting at 09.

It is. And Iron Man was shit. Dark Knight was OK on the second viewing. I hate superhero movies. I'm gonna kill someone when Watchment comes out.

Have you read the new Joker graphic novel?

Dark Knight on the second viewing made me want to slap every single fucking person involved in its production.
