It's like this, Bryan...Grooveshark without the mess and more robust portability.

However, I get the sense that you are more like me and listen to your music more "offline" than on. Yes? I really only use Spotify when I want to listen to a specific album/song or a prepared playlist (i.e. ATP). Definitely worth checking out...more or less useful to you depending on how much you listen online.

Figured out a great loophole. If you were one of the people who used to use proxies to sign in with a UK account, just log into your UK account. Go to spotify.com and enter the site. "Get Spotify" Download the client. Edit your profile to change your country from UK to USA. And you're in as a free US user.

Download this: http://download.spotify.com/Spotify%20Installer.exe

And log in with your UK credentials.

Basically, if you used to do the UK proxy loophole, change your profile to say you're in the USA. And then log in on the application.
