Ha ha ha....."Can I have my drawing of a spider back then please." Loved it.
that's beautiful![]()
Hahaha...loved it!
The spider was awesome.
They should have accepted it because then they could have been on the news as a company with a heart trying to help Americans in a time of crisis but no they are heartless bastards like most companies.
Here some other bastard companies...
Wal Mart - The spawn of uber psycho Sam Walton who felt that abusing employees and forcing companies to make products overseas to lower their prices was good for America.
American Airlines - Proof that service can suck on all levels when you don't care. This company actually had the nerve to make my friend send a copy of his father's death certificate when he died to waive the flight rescheduling fee.
American Express - Do I give a f*ck if Laird Hamilton or Kate Winslet does some kind of rich person's bullshit with your card? No!
GE Money - Owned by GE who are the makers of the atomic bomb and the electric machine gun. Need I say more?
Ikea - Founded by Ingvar Kamprad who was in the Nazis party during WWII.
Domino's - Owned by Anti Semitics but to make matters worse the pizza sucks.
I could go on but I need to get to work..

Ardent, please post more of these when you're done with your work. I didn't know about the Ikea or Domino's ones.
I bet if Real Talk sent an MS Paint of what Jane looked like she would accept that as payment.
thats so great...
Hahahaha...awesome!
Ardentbiscuit - that is standard procedure for all airlines. They require a death certificate for bereavement discounts (for travel to funerals) as well. You're getting all bent out of shape for nothing.
I saw this yesterday...and it still made me LOL.
Such a cute widdle spider!
That was a good laugh. Awesome.
I understand the airlines are trying to increase their revenues and avoid loses but my friend's father had been experiencing back pain and when he went to the doctor he discovered he had a huge tumor in his back and it had ruptured his spinal cord. My friend's father died shortly after that and my friend had to change his travel plans to attend the funeral and memorial. He was in tears and was crying and they asked him for a death certificate and the operator was a wise ass and thinking he was funny and made a joke like, "you need to send us a picture of the body too just to be sure." My friend is a lawyer and he flipped a gasket and screamed at them so long and so loud that they refunded his money in cash but this was after much anger and grief.
He did, he got a full refund an apology and the employee got fired.
I understand that asking for a death certificate is standard operating procedure to save the airlines money because their gouging of people isn't enough but it's generally heartless and is basically saying, "We think you are lying, please prove it to us.". My friend is obviously not an oscar caliber actor, he was really upset and crying and to ask someone for a death certificate who is obviously in mental anguish is bastardly.
The bad joke made by the employee was just because American Airlines sucks ass and hires sub standard idiots who have no education to operate their phones. Trying calling them sometime, you will wonder how America is still standing with people as retarded as that living in it.

that was definitely a bad joke and was not handled properly at all.
but i think it's perfectly within reason to request documentation for the discount. i review financial aid appeals for students who want their financial aid reinstated. we require that they explain their situation for why they could not adhere to the policies of their financial aid. we certainly require documentation for claims such as the death of a familiy member and have no problem asking for that. unfortunately we do not live in a society where you can simply trust someone at their word, otherwise people would abuse the system and make it more difficult for people experiencing REAL tragedies to get the discounts they need.
Chicken pot, chicken pot, chicken pot piiiieeeeeeeee!
Unfortunately I expect too much from the world and humanity in general. That's my problem.
This apparently may come as a surprise to you, but, people do lie. Especially when it comes to things related to money.
Also, this apparently may also come as a surprise to you, but, the airlines do not exist to fly people around for the hell of it. The airlines exist, in theory, to make money for investors. Additionally, the airlines don't have to offer bereavement fares. They could just say "ok, the fare for that travel change is $1000" and you and your friend would be stuck.
Finally, this will also come as a surprise to you, but your friend sounds pretty damned naive for a lawyer.
1. Run to a nice patch of grass on the fields and lay face down.
2. Tilt your head ninety degrees with your forehead temple resting on your forearm and watch people through the vision pocket right underneath your armpit hair.
3. Do this for a few hours until you get comfortable.
A Daft Punk thread containing 'nothing of substance'. How bout that.
