I think it's probably information about their next album. I think the last rumor I had heard was January. They could also be announcing a tour though. I doubt it's related to Coachella...yet

As the Prodigy knowledge on the board, I will place my bet that this is regarding their new album. The album was recently finished and stated as 11 tracks solid.

The announcement will probably have the album name, release date, maybe first single, and MAYBE info regarding a tour. But all it will probably say is "the prodigy will be doing a tour in support of the new album next spring/summer".

But if they do mention anything else, then rock on.

My first Coachella was in 2004 and I got turned on to some new and likeable music styles, met some very cool people, and had a good time. But, I'd have to say I blame the Prodigy in 2005 for the obsessive, compulsive, addiction disorder I have for Coachella. Sure sounds like a much needed fix is on the horizon!

Betao, thats exactly what I was thinking. There is no way they announce any major festival gigs this early on Radio 1. Promoters would shit bricks.

They're finishing up an album in NYC so surely it's related. Album and 2009 world tour.

Late last november, Cooking Vinyl's (prodigy's record label) myspace had both Turbonegro and The Prodigy listed as playing Coachella 2008. Once word had of them playing had surfaced, CV sent this message to a huge Prodigy fansite:

"Hi all,

Prodigy are not playing Coachella 2008.
i've checked with their tour manager and the posting on the Cooking Vinyl US was there by mistake (and has since been removed). The prodigy were never booked to play it, but are looking forward to Coachella 2009!

How can one accidentally list a band as playing a huge festival? Anyway, that's what went down last year.

I remember how excited(me included) we all got around thanksgiving. Only to get shut down, fun times. I'm sad that no BIG rumors have come up so far, I mean by last year we knew Portishead was playing, same for the Verve. MBV where still a big possibility, and we knew that Radiohead was NOT playing. where are the rumors?
