I had to go with the pumpkins...I went to bridge school benefit show on sunday and the billy corgan band played 4 songs I'd never heard before and one of the oldies that josh grobin totally butchered but billy's voice sounds GREAT and he plays guitar beautifully...That was the first time i'd ever seen him before!!!

Yeah, Pulp is the only feasible one. No bad blood, just Jarvis holding out for a van full of money, or whenever funding runs out for his solo endeavors.

I can't believe how many people love The Smiths on this board. I mean, they're a good band, but I'm sure many of you have seen Morissey, and I can't fathom that their live show could compare to Talking Heads, or even Pumpkins.

Talking Heads > original Pumpkins > Smiths

What Mike Patton music have you listened to? Obviously you havent been listening to the right stuff. I really hope you don't say "Well, I heard that song "Epic" and I didn't like it very much."
You have to understand Mike Patton to know why Im not offended. Mike Patton makes fun of anyone and everyone. One of the main reason Jim Martin left Faith No More was because Mike Patton was notorious prankster. Mike Patton spares NO ONE if he see's the opportunity. He picked me out of the crowd, so no matter what my answer would have been, he would have made fun of me. So no, I don't hate him. It stung for a second, then I realized what happened and I was cool with it.

I truly love the Smiths, but I'd like for them to forever remain this beautiful thing that flamed out on top.

I picked the Stone Roses almost solely because I'd kill my granny to hear that rhythm section together again.

I am really surprised how close the poll is between the Smiths and Talking Heads. I though for sure the Talking Heads would be up more. That being said I voted for the Smiths.

The first album is a classic. I've caught them live twice. The first time was not so good. The second was painful.

I think this comes from the fact that alot of people here aren't familiar with them...and the fact that Ian Brown is truly awful live now...at least Mani still jams on the bass.
