    Makes sense.

go to the Pancho Villa in the Mission ... don't go to the one by the Embarcadero ... blech.

    Someone mention SF bars?

If you want a good selection of beers, Toronado in the lower Haight is a good bet.

My "home" bar is Elixir ... owned by a Boston transplant, so they always got the Red Sox on.

Also a big fan of Lucky 13 ... they serve Aventinus ... mmmmm.

it docks towards the end of the twin hangars over at moffett. if should be easy to take down at night i would think if you came at it from the back through the marshes.

I find it to be usally packed, the food is not that good and overpriced, and while they have rare beers, it's not a big selection.

There are many other bars on 16th I'd rather go to (Elixir, Kilowat, Delirium)

The Monk's in Philly is FAR better ... assume that's what they were trying to model it after.

yeah monk's irritates me a little. They definitely have some rare beers but for the money you could have probably gotten 3 pints of good beer at toronado or some shit.

Thieve's tavern over on 14th has 2 many pool tables if you don't want to fight the crowds at kilowat or delirium, or you're not lesbian enough for Gestalt.

GV needs to book the Phunkateck Crew from SF for some DnB in the Sahara. Get UFO, Sage, etc.

    Good tip on Thieves.

Gestalt ... the place with all the bike racks in the front (inside). It always seems there are about 10 people hanging outside, 2-3 on the chairs/couches in the front window ... but no one else in that joint. Place lacks any type of character.

14th & Guerrero. I meant to say 2 pool tables, not 2 many.
They got 2. It's rarely crowded.

It used to be the Hush Hush a few years ago. Not exactly sure how long it's been thieves tavern.

it does lack character. I suppose the bike racks inside may be very functional, but to me it screams of desperation for a bike crowd in a neighborhood that's not exactly desperate for biker hangouts.

That place is embarrassing. You have to be either 21 or live way the fuck out there to live with the embarrassment.

Yancys has too many med student pricks (not suggesting all meds are pricks)
My friend lives in the Inner Richmond so these are close and I frequent them a lot. Trader Sams...We always get hooked up and Yancy's always has hot girls. Could care less about the guys

I can be there in 10 minutes.

I don't smell like rotten piss.

One place I do like going to when it's warm out, the rooftop at Medjool .... ONLY during a nice day for drinks and a skewer platter for all, not at night when all the trendy douchenozzles show up.

NBA - The Golden State Warriors play nearby in Oakland. Easy to reach by BART.
