The word is that it's June 11th-14th. Sorta got leaked, but it isn't on the official site yet. I think Rolling Stone has something about it. Last year it was the 12th-15th, so I'm betting those dates are correct.

Go to Bonnaroo instead of Lolla. Lolla is so overrated. The lineup is always good and that's what counts the most but just about everything else is completely inferior to Coachella, Roo and others. The conflicts are really annoying, it's so damn crowded, fratboy douchebags never shut up during the songs, and you can't camp there. So yeah, if you only go to one of those two, make it the Roo.

The thing that keeps me going back to Lolla is its accessible to a lot of my friends that would never make it through Coachella or Bonnaroo. I'm originally from Illinois meaning a lot of my friends ended up in Chicago and for $180 bucks as opposed to almost 300 more of my friends, especially the Chicago natives, are willing to fork that out for a weekend of boozing and tunes. Thats what keeps me going is its almost like a reunion weekend for me and the ole pals.

Even if you go by yourself, you'll be in good company. You'll have some friends there. You know? I highly suggest you go even if your friends can't hang. I honestly doubt any of my non-Coachella boardie friends will go with my to the Roo.

Jesse, that was probably mostly because it was your first time in Chicago and it's a pretty amazing city, right? I had been to Chicago several times before the Lolla I went to and it just wasn't anything special at all.

Tommyboy, I've wrote lots about what I think Phish is doing next year in other threads. Unfortunately, I can't remember which ones. I'll try to summarize. Instead of playing at any typical multi-band festivals, they just did their own festivals where it was just them playing like 8 sets for 3 days. Amazingly, 70 - 100,00 people showed up just to see Phish, so clearly Phish is bigger than Bonnaroo. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phish_festivals
However, these US festivals didn't start becoming really, really popular until after Phish broke up. I'm very curious to see what they decide to do. I would absolutely love it if they played, but if I had to guess right now, I would say no. It's about a 30% chance in my mind. I'm a big Phishhead so I will see them multiple times next year regardless. The Dead however, I'm about 90% sure they'll be there. They're basically a lock, like MMJ, and I can't fucking wait!!! It's going to be so awesome to see Phil, Bob, Mickey and all the boys up there again. As old as they are they can still fucking rock!

They have awesome festival guides that are in small book form. They give them out at a few booths in Centeroo.

I'm not a big Dead or Phish guy, but I was just curious. The 2 locks every year are Widespread Panic and My Morning Jacket. Didn't they have to announce in 2007 that MMJ WASN'T playing Bonnaroo? That is awesome. I bet we'd all have a fucking blast partying at an MMJ set at the Roo.

You will be after the Roo. Trust me. They are absolutely fucking phenomenal, just ask Ron. It's weird because I'm probbly younger than most of you guys and I feel like the old man telling you that these old folks can make better music than most of these younger bands today, but it's true. Just imagine, Jim James walks out on stage to jam with the Dead. Or better yet Phil Lesh jams with MMJ, or Mickey Hart steps in for Patrick on drums for a song or two. My mouth is watering just thinking about the possibilites.

I 100% support a Clinton/P-Funk late-night show. That would be ridiculous. As long as it doesn't conflict with MMJ
