I'm sure they plowed under all the orange trees there when all the people moved in.

Yup. My house currently has a tangelo tree, and a grapefruit tree in the back yard. My neighbor has a navel orange tree that hangs over the fence. We always pick what we can get.

What is your favorite city in AZ to take a day trip to?

I would say either Bisbee, or Jerome. Not as much to see in Jerome, but the views are fantastic. We go there every few years for New Years Eve. The Spirit Room is a blast. Many interesting characters, from all walks of life.

Those are my two favorites too. I went to Bisbee for the first time last year. The owner of the brewery there was putting it up for sale. I had many long wistful moments wishing I could buy it as that would be what I would love to do when I grow up, but I have 4 more years of working for my kids before I can do what I want with my life.

Have you ever done Whiskey Row in Prescott? What were your thoughts?

Gunz, believe it or not, I have never tried anything that is mind altering. Not some high horse moral standard, just have had no desire. I do enjoy my beer, wine, martinis, etc. That's the extent of it.

Whiskey Row is very cool! Very similar to the Spirit Room in that lots of different types of people go up there.

I haven't been up there for some time, though. I have heard from others that it is nowhere near as good as it used to be.

    lol, true.

As usual, it involves a girl. :P

I was 22, I think. I went out with friends to see a band play at Long Wong's in Tempe. They wanted to leave after a few songs, but I wanted to stay. They left to go to another bar, and I told them I would catch up with them later.

I ended up talking with this really interesting girl. She wasn't what I would describe as cute, but she was very unique looking. Hair was up, skirt was long, boots, interesting eye make-up.

I happened to know one of the bar girls there fairly well, so I started hooking us both up with long island ice teas. Very potent, too. We both got pretty drunk over the next hour or so, downing glass after glass. We decided to get out of there and work our way down to the other bar.

On the way, she begins to tell me more about herself. That's when things got...strange. Turns out, she's a runaway. She's only 18. She wants to know if I can help her out with money. I'm pretty shit faced, so I think this is a joke. I start to laugh. She then proceeds to get pissed, and starts yelling, " Get away from me! Let go of me! Stop Stop!!" Again, I start laughing. I can't help it! The situation is insane.

Some dudes run over, and ask what is going on. I'm standing there, trying to shake the cobwebs out while she proceeds to tell them that I followed her out of the bar, and that I wouldn't leave her alone. They start to move over to where I am, and I just take off. Running as fast as I can.

Now, if any of you have tried to run whilst drunk, it can be a bit difficult. I am being chased by three frat dudes down Mill Avenue in Tempe, trying to dodge the masses. Well, I don't dodge too well in that state. I trip and I run right into...

    A cop. A bicycle cop.

The cop picks me up off the ground, and can tell immediately that I am severly intoxicated. He asks me what's going on, as the three guys come running up. They don't stop. They keep running by me and the cop. He asks if those guys were chasing me, and I said no. He checks my ID, says that I have had enough and I need to go home.

    Crisis averted!

Moral of the story...don't let your friends leave you alone to talk to underage runaways.

I would say for me it is the emotional release. Whether I am playing music, or listening.

I enjoy paintings. I'm more into the classical style, renaissance to impressionist. My favorite "picture" (actually a mural) is "School of Athens" by Raphael. I have a large print of it in my house. I never get tired of looking at it.

Excellent, I really like Monet and Manet's impressionist works of the Dutch countryside. Something about the windmills and sea levies in that landscape is really appealing to me.

    Yikes.

I love Long Wong's, I haven't been in forever. Shitty about being chased by frat boys; sounds like Mill.

Since we're on the topic of Long Wong's, what is your go-to menu item at that fine establishment?

I would say opening for Billy Idol. Although, I am not really a fan of his...that was still pretty cool.
