Jesus fucking H. Christ.. I did not see that lineup yet. That's pretty good. I might be sold. But that just fucking adds another fucking stupid fucking conflict to my Memorial Day Weekend and between ETDPop, Lightning in a Bottle, and Sasquatch I think my head just hurts now.. :/
My perfect day would start with waking up naturally (and well rested) at about 8:30-9:00. Then my boyfriend would make english muffins + eggs for breakfast, and I'd also eat a banana and a glass of milk. We'd go on a hike with a few of my friends--a steep one that results with a great view and that also at some point requires wading through water barefoot. Then, home, shower, and then post-shower sex with a one-hour nap to follow. After the nap, I'd go read out on the hammock in the back yard--and a cat would nap on my lap. My boyfriend and I would make chilli burgers for dinner while listening to music, and I'd have three beers, either Speak Easy or something Belgian. After dinner we'd either watch a movie or two, laying on the couch, or we'd go to a show (where we'd mock the people in the crowd). At some point during the day, I would eat a strawberry popsicle.

I'm a democratic socialist (or a "progressive"), but I'm not actually very actively political. I strongly feel that there should be universal health care, and access to education for all (but, I do think that educational standards should be much higher than they are). No serious epiphanal moments stand out for me, and I think I've always been a liberal. I'm not sure how my worldview developed, but I have been interested in social justice and equality since doing a report on Harriet Tubman back in 4th grade. I also had to go to the emergency room in Holland because my knee had been locked for 24 hours (miniscus problems), and it was a wonderful experience: they treated me right away, my boyfriend's govt. insurance covered it, it was like nothing I had ever seen in the United States before.

Would you post your favorite image of all time? Your favorite album art, photo of your cat, Calvin and Hobbes strip, or a famous painting. As long as it comes between [img]s it's fair game.
I'm not that big of a picture or visual person, and I don't really ever pay much attention to album artwork. Here are my two favorite pictures, though.
This is a picture of my cat, Chubby, and his brother (my roomate's cat), Ollie, when they were kittens. They were my first pets, and I had quit my job right after we got them so I would hang out with them all day...I was totally smitten. This picture kills me...Chubby ran away when he was 8 months old and was most likely killed, which tears me up inside.
And this is a picture I took in Venice, that I just find really peaceful. I like to imagine I live in one of those flats and that one of those canoes is mine to hang out in and paddle around.

God isn't that the truth...
Just to show how unobservant I can be... I've frequented this board on/off since Coachella '08, and have never seen/read this thread. Kinda fun skimming through it and getting to know you guys.
I'll bite- Was Coachella '09 your first big festival experience, or had you been to others like Sasquatch before?
On the basis of your Wilco story, do you try and coax friends to tag along with you to Coachella if you're not sure how they'll like the experience, or would you rather just go it alone?
Acts you're looking the most forward to at this year's event?
If y'all fresh to death, then I'm deceased... -Kanye West
Jamiroquai 2014 please.
Any guiding or predominant philosophies?
John Locke or Thomas Hobbes?
Coachella '09 was my first big festival experience, though I had gone to Saturday of Treasure Island in '08 (but I don't really think that counts). I had been invited to Coachella in '07 and '08 but didn't go because I didn't think it was worth the money....terrible mistakes.
I have been pushing my friends to come to Coachella this year, but it doesn't look like any of them will and I've decided that it's for the best. A few have been coming to shows with me in SF lately but it seems kind of pointless when they don't really seem to care about the music on the same level as I do. Last year it was just my boyfriend and I at Coachella and it worked really well--this year I can't wait to see sets with boardies who are as crazy passionate as I am.
Acts I am most looking forward to: Fever Ray, Plastikman, Orbital, Beach House, Wolfgang Gartner, Gorillaz, Grizzly Bear, Deerhunter, and Aeroplane.

Definitely always favored Locke over Hobbes, but it has been years since I've seriously read or thought about either.
I don't really have any philosophies that jump to mind when I think about my worldview, but I always found myself drawn to Nietzsche, or at least what I read of him made the most sense to me. I'm a pretty lazy theorist/philosopher, to be perfectly honest.

Going alone to festivals is really great if your friends have a different taste in music. If you're going with someone that would be as excited as you are about the same bands, it's just an added bonus. Adhering solely to your schedule is a blessing.
Any hobbies outside of concerts / music that you're particularly fond of or skilled in?
I played at the most competitive level of soccer in high school and was supposed to play in college but chose partying instead...but I did play in intramural leagues, which was a lot of fun. I'd love to join a league again. So I like athletics, in general. I run, but mostly short distances because I get bored of it...and I try to do a few 5K's a year. I like hiking/camping but don't do enough of it. I play scrabble online at least once a day, but I cheat and use anagrammers so I'm not actually very good and hate playing on an actual board. I like live theater. I am always down to get a little drunk and do karaoke.

How many girls on your soccer team did you make out with?
None. I've never made out with a girl.

In either 7th or 8th grade I had a stress fracture on my left hip, but I continue to play 2 different sports 6 days a week for about 3 weeks before it was actually diagnosed--I've always been really stubborn when it comes to admitting injuries. The pain was so intense that I'd be playing soccer and would have to drag my leg behind me, limping across the field, but whenever my coach or mom was watching or questioning if I was actually injured I would do my best to run/walk normally. I remember crying myself to sleep a lot of nights because it hurt so much.
That, and when I had ACL/miniscus surgery at 16 I was hysterical and in a ton of pain right after the surgery. The drugs either hadn't kicked in or something because it was still horrifically painful and I was a sobbing mess, my boyfriend was trying to be sweet and hold my hand but I kept punching him and flailing my arms about like a maniac til I eventually fell asleep.

Which sexual favor do you regret?
I guess pretty much everything I did in highschool--I certainly didn't physically enjoy it at that age, and I did everything because I didn't want my boyfriend to break up with me, and the peer pressure that it was just normal/expected to engage in sexual activity. Highschool car sex was the worst.
