There's really not that much of a joke to it. A couple years ago Malcolm started a trend of informing people who were excited about... Tiesto, I think? that "Dave Wang says 'Trance is dead.'"
They all had your reaction.
Well that's rather disappointing. I was hoping there'd be more to it than that. Speaking of Wangs, I'm headed out to SF's Chinatown for dinner tonight. There's this tiny hole in the wall I always hit up when in town and it's run by a guy named Mr. Wang. I'll have to ask him about the current state of trance.
Here's the origin. Wow, memory lane. http://www.coachella.com/forum/showt...ight=Dave+Wang
Too much Tiesto support in that thread.

What's your favorite body part on yourself and others?
If I come in to chat, what will we talk about?
MJA!!! What a lovely suprise!
Now, tell us about the most dishonest thing you've ever done...
Malc, let me know when the most incriminating time to burst into chat would be.
Okay, if you can't tell about the most dishonest thing you've ever done how about the most entertaining dishonest thing that you can talk about?
Entertaining Dishonest Thing:
I like to tell my dumber friends outrageous lies where it's kind of a one-man game where I try to top what I can get my dumb friends to believe. The best I ever did, I think, was when Jonathon Brandis, the star of Seaquest DSV and Ladybugs killed himself, I brought two girls to their knees by convincing them he had actually chainsawed his own head off. The hook of the lie was something to the effect of "Well, he really just had to make the initial cut into his neck and, for all practical purposes, he was dead, you know, short-circuiting at that point, but his body's own nervous responses and jerks allowed him to continue the chainsaw through the remainder of his neck despite his not really being "conscious"."
