I guess I'd have to say that I am excited for the 2 day run of Phish shows at the Gorge. It's been 5 years since I flew to NY to see the first 5 shows of their 'last' tour and I am looking forward to seeing them again. Plus, I'm going with some fun classmates, the Gorge is beautiful and the camping experience is always a lot of fun.

I forgot to say that when we had our 2nd wedding I presented Erika with my deceased Grandmother's engagement ring, which my also deceased Grandfather had presented her in the late 30s. It's a beautiful ring, which Erika loves dearly.

I would sing the little bastard "Jack and Diane" by John Cougar Mellencamp and when he came at me I would brain him with the frankincense and myrrh censer (incense burner).

    Your favorite Michael Jackson song?

Your favorite and/or least favorite display of patriotism you've witnessed over this or any July 4th weekend?

When I was in elementary school my hair was shockingly white, which got me called Whitey occasionally. I played a lot of sports when I was younger and I was always referred to by my last name, a trend which continued throughout my time in the military.

I'm not really a fan of Michael Jackson. I fully recognize his influence on music, but I actually like some of his Jackson 5 songs better.

Due to our nocturnal partying, I didn't witness anything untoward this weekend. I do find an overabundance of American flags plastered all over the place to be a tad bit unsettling. It is too reminiscent of police states. I would prefer to see a nice regal flag flying here and there, it makes them more special and not so in your face.

Once, we were authorized to use a captured smuggler's cigarette boat for target practice. Our Gunner's Mates unloaded our 25mm cannons and .50cals on the boat for 45 minutes before it would sink. The coolest part was watching the tracer rounds skipping off of the waves and into the sky.

Fikus, was the name of a cat I had while I was in Arizona. We named him after the Phish song of the same name. The 222, is a number that used to follow me around. I first started using it as a screen name around a decade ago.

1992-1997. There was a lot of good albums that came out during this time period. I think that this time period also represents a period of change and flux in music, where you had electronic music coming into its own and rock and roll evolving as well.

Not that I can recall. I did have a GF who really liked Sade, so that got a lot of play in the bedroom.

The one thing that I did with the most negative repercussions was pretty serious at the time, but terribly cliche as well. When I was 16 I got a 1967 Mustang, which I proceeded to cut in half during an accident on a country road. There were two car loads of us on a two lane country road and I was in the rear. When it was safe/legal to pass, I pulled out, only to have my friend speed up. Instead of slowing, I tried for a little while longer to get in front. We were only going 50 in a 45, but up ahead a couple of cars came around the bend. I was somehow able to get back to my side, but my back tires spun out in the gravel which swun me back across the road. I went through a barbed wire fence and hit a telephone pole sideways. The pole cut the car in half directly in front of the windshield. During this time the guy sitting shotgun's seatbelt broke and he flew out the window, which broke one hip and dislocated the other. One guy in the back was struck by in the head by the same piece of steering wheel that gave me a concussion. The two others were unharmed. Besides my concussion, I had cut one ear almost in half and dislocated my kneecap, which I noticed upon exiting the car. Completely on autopilot, I took my knee and relocated it. On my way to the fire truck I noticed that the engine was off to the side of the car and that the transmission was down the street. At this time, a helicopter landed in the field to take the two most seriously hurt (the one sitting shotgun and the one stuck in the head while in the back seat).

Everyone was able to heal, but the situation was definitely effed up for awhile. Beyond the medical issues, lay the possibility of being sued and also the repercussions of the court. Luckily, we weren't sued, but I did lose my license for awhile, spent a year on probation (so lame, we were all sober and didn't have any priors) and I had to do some time as a candy striper. So, not necessarily a story of high crime, but it was certainly an event that shaped my teen age years and how my parents would treat me during that time as well.

Well when I'm there I live in a place called Kit Kat right on the Nile across from Zamalek, which is called the Manhattan of Cairo, its really a shit hole. The city is pretty damn dirty and overpopulated but there is always something interesting going on. The traffic is absolutely insane...i've been run over by cars and donkey pulled carts alike. There are tons and tons of foreigners who carve out their own niches and frequent their own bars. I absolutely love it. could go on forever.

favorite place in North Africa?? hrm Beni Melall and Agadir in Morocco and the Echo Temple outside of Sharm al-Sheikh on the Sinai. It's a giant dance floor not far from where Moses did his thing. here's a bad photo taken before an event a few years back

food, women and music are my three passions in life.

Food: in sicily there is a type of corner store that sells Rosticerria, which are basically all kinds of small snack/lunch foods. my favorite is the Arancino:

this one has rice, peas and beef in it. My favorite are filled with prosciutto and mozzarella cubes. yet others are filled with fruti di mare or all vegetables (eggplant, artichoke, mushrooms..etc)

    pretty easy to make too:
    Arancini di Riso

i guess my second favorite food is Kushari.

This dish is native to egypt and is pretty much a calorie bomb. It's basically macaroni noodles, white and brown rice, brown lentils covered in a bit of garlic/vinegar and tomato salsa. it's cheap, utilitarian, vegan and cheap.. this got me through college.

    Kushari Recipe

As for my first dance? hrm well i've seen some video of me getting down at a young age with ladies..but i'd have to say the first one that counted had to be something by Michael Jackson or Mariah Carey... or Boys to Men... shits nuts.

i do remember getting down to This Is How We Do It by Montell Jordan a whole lot... still do to this day
