we share the same birthdate, elizabeth nicole (along with the late jim morrison). hello.
who are your top 3 artists that you'd like to see (or would like to have seen) in concert (dead or alive).
and, i'd follow monklish's instructions about less top. you've got them; flaunt them.
And Sinéad O'Connor
Since I grew up on the Beatles, I would have loved to have seen them in their heyday. Bad Religion got me into punk but for some reason I've never been able to catch them. I'd like to get a chance to see Arcade Fire the next time they tour.
I'll take this advice under review.
Whiskey Sour
2 oz blended whiskey
Juice of 1/2 lemon
1/2 tsp powdered sugar
1 cherry
1/2 slice lemon
Shake blended whiskey, juice of lemon, and powdered sugar with ice and strain into a whiskey sour glass. Decorate with the half-slice of lemon, top with the cherry, and serve.

Nice to meet you Liz. So, how come you live in Raleigh? I saw somwhere you went to school in Florida. Did you move to NC for the job or did you spend some time in NC when you were moving around with your parents?
Artists you're most looking forward to seeing at Coachella?
If y'all fresh to death, then I'm deceased... -Kanye West
Jamiroquai 2014 please.
I sort of ended up in North Carolina by accident. I couldn't find a job in Tampa when I finished school, so I decided to go live by my parents in DC and give that town one more try. I lasted 5 months before it became clear why I left the area in the first place. I was about 3 days from moving to San Francisco (my brother lives there and I'm smitten with that part of the country) when I got offered a summer contract job with an engineering firm in Raleigh that I had done freelance work with in the past. I decided to take it to earn a little money for my move out west and ended up falling for the boy in the next office. Fast forward 18 months and that boy and I are now living in sin and I see myself staying here for a while. It has definitely been an adjustment living in the bible belt, but the place is growing on me.
^ I haven't spent a ton of time in Raleigh, but North Carolina definitely has its ups. I drive through Raleigh often.
Have you ever wanted to take 40 from end to end just for the hell of it? It starts in Wilmington and ends in Barstow, CA. I've dreamt of doing this.
What are your favorite hair metal bands?

Of course I am, but only if you promise to circle all of my imperfections with a sharpie so I really know my place.
Also, it is an unfortunate thing I have to do from time to time because I have one cat with some serious colon issues. It's easier than dropping $300 at the vet each time he gets backed up. He's really old, so it's not something that I will have to do for very long.
I'm really looking forward to seeing The Specials and Faith No More since I never thought I would get the chance. The Avett Brothers are a must see since I missed half of their set at ACL and need more. LCD Soundsystem, Portugal. The Man, and Camera Obscura are high on the list as well. Oh, and John Waters? Yes please!
Liz, please describe your most outlandish Matanza experience.
You seem to be fairly adept at written communication, which is odd for architects and engineers. Why are you different?

Have you ever changed your mind about a musician or band you used to like because their personality (as you imagined it) changed? "Selling out" for example?
I can't say I've ever had a proper Matanza experience. To be honest, I had to google it to figure out what the hell you were talking about. 'Round these parts we call em "pig pickins" and I avoid them like the plague. I find it much easier to eat pork when I don't have to stare into the dead pig's eyes as it lies gutted for our culinary enjoyment.
Catwoman is ridiculous and her little outfit is totally impractical for proper villainous antics. I'm going to say Bizarro, because, let's be honest here - who doesn't love a doppelganger? And it seems to me that he's more of a calamity than he is an evil force.
I'll go with Method Man since he's really the only member that I'm familiar with.
So far this week is much more interesting than I thought it would be. Liz, at a show are you an up front kind of girl, a hang in the back, or does it depend on the band?
Say you didn't have a boyfriend and this board was your entire dating pool. Who would you be interested in based on photos, posts, real interactions or whatever and why?
Not very frequently. But, when I was going through my jam band phase back in 2001, I discovered this little local band from DC called OAR. I was intrigued because they had an ever so slight reggae sound, and put on a decent live show. In the past few years, they've reached ultimate "bro music" status and their last 2 or 3 albums have been absolutely stripped of any personality. I want to kick them in the crotch for becoming lame and putting out douchey music. Oh well.
Whoa, where'd that come from!Sheeeesh... lol
Liz, seeing as how you stated you're living in sin in the bible belt and I'm alll too familiar with this southern evangelical damnation, do you get crap either from your or your boyfriend's family for not getting married? Are there any fanatics in your immediate vicinity which you are forced to deal with on a consistent basis? What would most likely happen if you hung a giant gay pride flag from your porch?

Thanks. I'm afraid I jumped into this here thread a little early, and it would have been a little more interesting if people actually knew who I am. Oh well.
It depends on the band. I'm all for throwing elbows and pushing my way to the front rail if it's going to be a really energetic set, or if it's a small venue. But sometimes it's better to hang in the back; there's something to be said about lying down in the grass at Coachella once the sun goes down to catch a set. I did that for Roger Waters and it made for an excellent experience.
