[QUOTE=TeamCoachellaHellYeah;777124also from Fuji Rock...the best Massive Attack show I have ever been to. Their stage set up their was sick...They later said they could not tour this stage set up in the US because it would have bankrupted them...and this is also for the naysayers that say they can't headline Coachella...they were headliners here...[/QUOTE]

They are NOT headliners in the US. You wrote it yourself, it would have bankrupt them. Which means they can't sell out shows, and don't get paid headliner money. Not headliners.

All the reasons this was awesome are lost in the video.

My camerawork sucks, because I was clapping along, so you can't really see his feet, which he's switching all the loop pedals with, because, as you can't really see, he's the only person on stage. He'd had a couple of mishaps in the previous song, and the audience was kind of holding their breath the whole way through. But you can't really see that, because I didn't record it.

Anyway, no lightshows, no fireworks, no singalongs and no crowd-pleasing gimmicks - still one the best shows I've ever been to in my life.

I adore Owen Pallett to a faintly disquieting extent.

they headlined Friday at the last minute because the headliner dropped out (which is somewhat common at Fuji Rock)....I can't for the life of me remember who was supposed to headline though...

Sushi, remember Paul T was going to make the first Coachella 3 days and have Massive Attack headline the 1st day....Daft Punk would have never happened without Coachella...I think Coach could have pulled off that Massive Attack set up...

Marco that was also 1999, Coachella was a NOTHING festival at the time. This is 2009 we are talking about, Coachella is now the BIGGEST festival in the U.S., and arguably the whole world. Massive Attack=Subheadliner, like The Gorillaz.

Basement Jaxx - where's your head at - Glastonbury 04

If your used to the studio recording, it might irk you, but I kinda like all the shouting and what-not on this one.

Shit looks like it would have been crazy fun to be there. That crowd is flippin' huge!

now your talking crazy...biggest in the US absolutely, biggest in the world? Questionable for sure...Fuji Rock, Glastonbury, Roskilde are all bigger and older then Coachella....

Nope, Lolla and Bonnaroo are both bigger. It depends on how you define big but just about everyone would define the size of a music festival on the attendence and both have higher attendence than Coachella. Even if you're going by the physical size of the event grounds, both are bigger, but Lolla might be close.

I'm talking importance here, and significance. Size doesn't really matter, a lot of festivals have to keep a limit, so that isn't really a fair argument.

I guess I shouldn't say Coachella is the biggest, I haven't gone to Roo. I have been wanting to go since 05-06. I'm really thinking about it next year, I've talked to Backwater about it. I want to experience the music until 4AM. fuck I need to go to the Roo.

Exactly, importance and significance are completely subjective. If you would have said, "Coachella is the best music festival in the world" that would have been fine, but biggest refers to size and Bonnaroo is much bigger.

If we really get two nights of Phish this year there will be easily at least 100,000 people there. Bonnaroo has no attendence cap because they have as much land as they want with no noise curfew. They say, "Hurry and get your tickets, they're selling out" but in reality, it will never sell out. They have so much space it's crazy, they just keep extending it.

Bonnaroo definitely eclipses Coachella in size (both area and attendance). I love both Coachella and Roo, though. Sushi, you really need to hit up Bonnaroo next year.

Well technically it's a once every couple of years experience because some bands like STS9 and My Morning Jacket play late night sets almost every year, but yeah Bonnaroo late night > everything about Coachella.

Wow, that picture is impressive, I know Glastonbury is bigger than Roo but are there any other ones that big, Roskilde maybe?

Coachella board meet up at Bonnaroo next year? Tommy? Backwater? Sbess? Dylan?. I'm saving up for two summer festivals next year(coachella doesn't count because i live here, so for me it's all about buying my tickets and that's it), but I'm thinking Roo(Lineup is not a factor, I just want to be a part of the madness), and Langerado(this one really depends on lineup). But i'm also looking into maybe going back to Lolla, or maybe APW.

Coachella duh! the amount of money I spend to go there could easily finance a trip aboard to any of those festivals...on that note I haven't beeen to Glastonbury or Rosklide yet...

Do not go to Langerado! I can't believe you're even thinking about supporting that. Moving that fest to downtown Miami was the worst piece of music news I've heard all year, sorry Isaac Hayes, but that is a true travesty.

If I have the funds and time off from work then I'm up for that. Roo will probably be 1 week after I graduate with my Master's. Maybe I can talk family into helping me go to Bonnaroo?

Thanks Backwater. You saved me the explaining...However on that note I think as goes Coachella so goes the rest of the US festivals. So I believe Coachella is more important then the other US festivals. So on that Coachella is "bigger"
