Hmm. Fair enough. I just don't think the Kurd areas in particularly are ever going to be entirely reconciled with the rest of the country. Aren't they functionally fairly independant already?

Arguably, in the areas they are the majority. But you have to understand Kurds in the rest of the nation, where they aren't the majority, are still going to be persecuted. Also in the last two weeks almost 10,000 Iraqi Christians were forced to flee their homes because of Shi'ite extremists threatening their lives and killing up to 15 of them.

They're the presidential nominees, not the nominees for the queen of the homecoming dance. Obama should be at least thirty years past feeling the need to be catty, and in McCain's case it's more like fifty. They're not impressing me by each acting like they're too noble to be sitting at a table with the other.
