since there's been a lot of talk about this show in the hard haunted mansion thread, i thought i would start a seperate andy c thread so we can all gush about him here. and i will be a good little first poster and be sure to include as much event info as i can here as we hear about it!!!

what should i leave at home? Alcohol, Drugs, Weapons, Pepper Spray, Pens, Markers, Spray Paint & Balloons. Please leave any of the above items in your vehicle.

Andy C is playing a Bassrush warehouse party November 1st on Imperial Street in Downtown. If your going to HARD Ivy you definitely should go to this too!

i saw him in 2004 and it was one of the best shows i've ever been to. he was so nice after the show and let me take a pic with him (above). he was signing whatever people brought in front of him and being really friendly. i cannot freaking WAIT to see him again. i'm more excited for this now than hard, lol :x

Yes! Andy C is a DON of DNB and is one of the friendliest guys in the scene. Send him a track, he'll sign it to RAM right fuggin now! (lol) The Bassrush party in LA should be FIRE! They haven't done a Bassrush one off in a very long time and I have heard they are coming with the serious bizness for this one.

i'm not allowed to have jager after an incident at a friend's wedding, lol. i blame my friend dave for practically pouring it down my throat though and my roommate for encouraging him to, lol.

how likely is it that andy c will sell out? like bud said, bassrush doesn't do many one-offs that i've seen, so it seems like something that might sell out. is "wherehouse" the name of an actual venue, or will this be some sort of wherehouse party? just curious. thank you

^ Ivy the event capacity is only 1,000! I would say if you are going to HARD, you definitely can make it to Bassrush and should buy a ticket asap. We can all go together, but I am waiting for Mark to get paid because he is the person I am carpooling with. It's at a warehouse, I don't think that is the name of the venue.

i was so freaking drunk at that show. my boyfriend had to ask andy for me to take a pic because i was too nervous. i was so happy to be talking to him, andy had to point at the camera to get me to pose, lol. that was at the canne's bar and grill on mission beach. they put on some sick shows there. i saw de la soul and krs-one there last year.

@ Orbit I am a huge massive Drum & Bass head but most of the DJs they bring through here all the time aren't my cup of tea. I want High Contrast, Logistics, Nu:Tone, Seba, Commix, Kubiks, Lomax, Break, Spectrsoul etc etc

Calibre and Alix Perez killed it at Nocturnal and they played DIFFERENT drum & bass.

Especially now we have this 'Stadium Drum and Bass' like Pendulum and such. It all sounds like cock rock of the 80s, like Bon Jovi.

I don't regard it as rave or even dance music anymore. It's all about Bassline but to be honest even that is getting crap now. DubStep is alright.

I guess it's always going to be House and Garage. Todd Edwards is sooooo unappreciated in the States. I wish he lived over here. He's remix of Surkin's Next of Kin is probably the best dance tune I've heard all year.

America has never been very fond of Garage. I have liked D&B and Jungle since pretty much the beginning and honestly I think it really started getting interesting after 2000. You had a lot more influences coming in and diversifying the sound which really opened up the creativity imo. Not to mention the production quality went way up.

Sure, now a days you have acts like Pendulum who I am admitedly not a huge fan of but also disagree that it ruined Drum & Bass. If you counted every bad euro-house record that ever came out House music would have been dead as a genre in 1988. For some reason though people have this bizarre fascination with the early days of Jungle when it was all chopped up Amens and Ragga samples and just can't let it go and move on.
