Last NYE show I hit at Madison Square Garden was Wilco/Flaming Lips/Sleater-Kinney in 2004. I'm not always a fan of the venue for concerts, but it was just a huge fucking party that night.

I might see My Morning Jacket there, but I'm going to hold off until I know what else is happening in town that night.

Hmmm. I saw the George Clinton show but Les is more attractive to me. I'd much rather get back up to Seattle for Ghostland if these are my options.

Les can definitely bring the house down on NYE...

Have you ever seen MMJ in concert? I would highly suggest going to that show. Though I bet there's a ton to do in NY at that time.

Yeah a few times, including their Coachella set in April. They're really terrific live. I'm just hoping something else of similar appeal in a more intimate venue will arise.

I'll probably be up on my roof watching the Space Needle blow up. At least that's the plan for now.

Yeah, I said that. It sucks too because I can't travel out of town for New Year's Eve because I always have to work that day (unless it's a Saturday).

These seem to be the choices Sushov.

    The Wailers at the Roxy
Stone Temple Pilots at Club Nokia
Richard Cheese and Lounge Against the Machine at HOB Anahim

I think Richard Cheese is winning right now.

There's also Giant NYE in LA of which we only know Moby Dj set so far.

And there's Hard NYE, which it hasn't been determined if it will be in LA or NY. I keep seeing different information posted on different sites.

If I could be guarenteed that they would play some rarities, I would be all over this. I just have a feeling that they won't play anything they didn't at the Bowl.

San Francisco has three great ones already:

The Radiators - Cafe du Nord
George Clinton, Pfunk, and Greyboy Allstars - Warfield
Les Claypool, Tim Fite, and Zappa Plays Zapps - War Memorial Opera House

Those last two are really tempting me to drive up there for NYE, but I would have such a hard time deciding which one to go to.

I'm sure the Monotonix set will be ridiculous, I could probably just wait to see them when they get carried out the front door. The rest of that lineup sucks and it's hosted by J.P. Patches?! That's just fucking weird.

Oh my god. The thought of Monotonix in a theatre just blew my mind. No fucking way! Gaaaaaaaaah. This sucks now I have to choose! Fuckity fuck fuck. And Vince Mira! Vince Mira ia fucking great time. Good ol' rockabilly dance tunes by a 15 year old spanish kid who has the voice of Johnny Cash.
But seriously, how the fuck are Monotonix gonna perform in a theatre? The Paramount has the option of no seats floor right? I am assuming this is what is going to be going on.

Haha, seriously. I think I'm going to that unless something better comes up in LA. Has anyone seen Zappa Plays Zappa?
