Finally listened to the album, and I love it. Pretty disappointed with the tour statistics seeing as "We Real Cool" and Finishing Jubilee Street" are my favorite tracks.

I feel like I am the only one who thinks "We Real Cool" is the best track on the album. I also thought it was the best new track performed live on their broadcast youtube concert. I really hope I get it in either Vancouver or at Coachella.

    We No Who U R
    Mermaids
    Jubilee Street
    Finishing Jubilee Street
    Higgs Boson Blues
    From Her to Eternity
    Red Right Hand
    The Ship Song
    Jack the Ripper
    Deanna
    Love Letter
    Papa Won't Leave You, Henry
    People Ain't No Good
    The Weeping Song
    The Mercy Seat
    Stagger Lee
    ***
    Tupelo
    Push the Sky Away

Is my guess at tonight's setlist. The opener and "Jubilee Street" were both huge but, as in Nashville, nothing compared to the explosion of "From Her..." "The Weeping Song" sounded full and lovely while "Jack" and "Stagger" were just insane. Nick spent a lot of time grabbing people in the crowd, singing most of "Stagger Lee" crouched down holding some guy in the front row against him. He often reminded me of Jarvis Cocker, but less nerdy and more snarling.

The Harlem Voices Youth Choir were on stage up through "The Ship Song" and then for the encore. There was a string quintet throughout, though they didn't always play.

    This was fucking awesome.

Oh, yeah. Also Nick's running around kept knocking down his music stand and mic stand; during "Deanna" a roadie came on stage to pick up the music stand and then got a microphone in the eye as Nick tossed it down to go play piano. Part of me thought it was stage craft to make us feel uncomfortable but, no, dude got knocked to the floor for real.

Ah crap! Sorry John I didn't say hello when I saw you after Sharon's set. I thought it was you but I was pretty drunk already at that point haha. Yes everything that John pointed out is true about last night. I wasn't planning on going but my friend had an extra orchestra ticket so I changed my mind about seeing the Breeders since they'll be back here in May and I think I made the right decision. Three fucking words: 1.) Tupelo 2.) Stagger 3.) Jack the Ripper! What a living legend! They were so raw, powerful and produced an overdose of sonic sound. Nick Cave and the bad seeds tore Beacon a new one last night. Harlem Choir group & a string quartet were great additions for sure. During the first couple songs, people were sitting down & getting a little antsy after he opened with 5 new songs but the show took off with 'From Her to Eternity'. So happy that Sharon Van Etten & Shilpa Ray sang background for most of the show standing alongside the children's choir Blixa and Mick are missed but that's life Still send chills to my spine since it's been over 5 years since I caught him Can't wait for round two tonight!

ps Funny moment at the show: Saw James Murphy throwing his arms up during Stagger Lee haha

This week has been great. Got the setlist for both Sigur Ros & Nick Cave shows this week

I thought that was you! Glad you made it; it was a great show.

Also I didn't know Sharon sang back-up; I could not see her from the Loge right side. They were otherwise great seats, though.

Definitely I'll probably check out OMD and the Faint though since I just saw the Bad Seeds last month...total bummer.

They were bloody explosive in San Francisco last night...wow. From Her to Eternity was pretty mind-blowing. They had about 30 people up there, including a string section (which really added to From Her...) and a good-sized children's choir. And I think Push the Sky Away works really well as the closer.

You guys are in for a treat this weekend. My favorite show of 2013 so far.

    Setlist:

    1. "We No Who U R"

    2. "Jubilee Street"

    3. "Wide Lovely Eyes"

    4. "Higgs Boson Blues"

    5. "From Her to Eternity"

    6. "Red Right Hand"

    7. "O Children"

    8. "Jack the Ripper"

    9. "Papa Won't Leave You, Henry"

    10. "Deanna"

    11. "Love Letter"

    12. "We Real Cool"

    13. "The Weeping Song"

    14. "Mercy Seat"

    15. "Stagger Lee"

    Encore:

    16. "Tupelo"

    17. "The Ship Song"

    18. "Push the Sky Away"

^^ I was there last night too, and I agree, they were fantastic. It was my first time seeing them. 'The Ship Song' was a great surprise during the encore (they haven't played it a whole lot on this tour).
We're here to play some Mississippi Delta Blues. We're in a horrible depression, and I gotta admit - we're starting to like it.

For anyone going to the SD show tonight, you may want to show up on time. I emailed the box office regarding set times. This was their response:

    "Hi there,

I do not have the set times for Nick Cave but there is no opening act. Performance should start on time at 7:30 and doors will open close to 6:30 pm. Please remember the ticket purchaser must bring their id and credit card tow swipe at the door and the entire party must enter at the same time.

Nick Cave puts on a great show so I hope your enjoy!"

Hell yeah I will enjoy the show!

I’m waiting for someone to post the interpreter of the deaf rendition of Stagger Lee on youtube.
    Whiskey Sour

    2 oz blended whiskey
    Juice of 1/2 lemon
    1/2 tsp powdered sugar
    1 cherry
    1/2 slice lemon

Shake blended whiskey, juice of lemon, and powdered sugar with ice and strain into a whiskey sour glass. Decorate with the half-slice of lemon, top with the cherry, and serve.

Just got slayed by Nick Cave.
Got a setlist, but he deviated from it. Here is a mostly correct SD setlist:

    1. We No Who U R
    2. Jubilee Street
    3. Wide Lovely Eyes
    4. Higgs Boson Blues
    5. From Her to Eternity
    6. Red Right Hand
    7. Stranger than Kindness
    8. Deanna
    9. Jack the Ripper
    10. Your Funeral... My Trial
    11. People Ain't No Good
    (added option)
    12. Love Letter
    13. Into My Arms
    (added option)
    14. The Weeping Song
    15. The Mercy Seat
    16. Stagger Lee

    17. Papa Won't Leave You, Henry
(added option, dedicated to a couple in the front who'd been to every gig)
    18. Tupelo
    19. Push the Sky Away

other options on the setlist (not played ... or played but I forget):
    Far from me
    Mermaids

I think he subbed out some songs like 'god is in the house'. i'm hoping someone on setlistfm will correct me (i uploaded the original).

The San diego performance made me rebelieve in Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds as "a Must See Act"after Coachella performance which didnt meet me spectation.Which again I felt about a lot of acts this past weekend.Yet that is most likely due to what i was ingesting each day.

Pretty sure their weekend 2 setlist was the same as the first:

    Jubilee Street
    From Her to Eternity
    Red Right Hand
    Deanna
    Jack the Ripper
    Stagger Lee
    The Mercy Seat
    Push the Sky Away

a bit bummed that they didn't break out Tupelo or Stranger than Kindness but still easily one of the best sets of the weekend.
